Hmm. Seemingly not this evening. And next up is Chelsea on Boxing Day.
oh dear.
The loss was never in doubt
Oh well, onto the next game!
You’re like my nephew you seem happy we lost so that you could be proved right.
A comment which could apply to so many “fans”.
No, definitely not. Just trying to desperately inject some humour or I’d be crying.
So sad to see at the moment. I appreciate every team has ups and downs. Liverpool have a moment of glory after 20 years of not much bar the champions league. Man U have been dire since Ferguson. And then there’s Leeds. Goodness knows where we’re heading but all I know is that we all have to manage the emotion or it’ll drive us nuts.
You only have to watch AFTV to see how some get so angry. I’m not one of those but I don’t pay £thousands every season.
Pretty poor week for Spurs & Mourinho. Can they do it on a wet Wednesday night in Stoke? Well, we will find out tonight - have to say I’m not hopeful.
AFTV is quite indicative of the modern fan and not just Arsenal but as you say those guys are season ticket holders spend £1,000’s and so are entitled to loose their rags.
I myself get to only 10 or so matches a year but have travelled through out Europe to watch this club and my feeling is much the same as yours this is just the life of a football team it’s a really down at present but we will come back stronger.
Well it seems we could…and without too much stress. Good draw to get Brentford.
Not a pretty sight
No even if, I assume, Photoshopped!
Google helped to some extent but I’d never heard of the chap before.
Boom Laca, Xhaka, Saka, boom boom!
Yes great score for the Gunners a fantastic save by Leno late on too. Really, really pleased for Mikel let’s hope this is a turning point.
Arsenal’s win could be a big boost for them (I hate to say for us Spuds ). They are no way as bad as their position in the table shows. How they move on from this is anyone’s guess. I still feel that Arteta, with an improved squad, has done worse so far than Emery did with a weaker squad.
Chelsea were woeful, and Frank has a long way to go to get a stable, balanced side ready to challenge for the league.
Spurs are nowhere there too, but our fans are just enjoying the relative success we have had recently (and ignoring the boring play that we are producing). Top four is surely the aim this season.
Anyway, ‘the gap’ is still big…
Beating Chelsea is always nice but if it becomes an isolated win like the one at Man Utd then it means nothing. Arteta had some changes forced upon him that should be a huge wake up call after today I can’t see how he can drop Martinelli, Smith Rowe or Pablo Mari, illness to Willian and Luiz forced him to make those changes but if he does revert to picking those senior players then my God they better win.
Today showed him one thing that it will be youthful hunger and energy that will pull him through this terribly difficult time not the old guard some of whom where his contemporaries as a player but to make that leap from player to manager he needs to be ruthless in his selections now.
On the subject of Emery he had a good first season but at the end of it the team and he squandered two chances to get back into the CL and he never really recovered from that humiliation to Chelsea in the EL final but as probably stupid as it sounds I think we made the correct choice eventually I wanted Arteta even before Emery came.
Nothing changed against Chelsea we still have a board that needs to financially back ‘their man’ a young manager who makes big, questionable choices and a team that needs a very large over haul.
Bravo. Must have waited a lifetime for that moment
Well we deserve our moment after much misery!
Big Sam-ball ain’t pretty, but my word! Set up 5-5 with occasional 6-4, and have the opponents throw themselves against the rock of the WBA defence until they grow weary and a little dispirited. Then go for the jugular.
When he was appointed, my first reaction was (as it has been before with BFS) that he can’t do it this time. After the Anfield result, I’m not so sure.
I thought the Baggies deserved their draw at Anfield this afternoon. The boost in confidence from the result could be worth more than the point.
Yes excellent result for WBA which all the clubs just below Liverpool will be very grateful for too no doubt.
