Football Season 2020 - 2021

KT has been our player of the season by a country mile but then he always was going to be his talent is huge it’s just been a question of fitness.
I think he will surpass Andy Robertson of Liverpool and will one day be Scotland’s first choice and will captain both club and country.

Probably the two best left backs in the world right now.

And Leeds, Leeds are falling apart, again.

Nice that we managed to contribute to the magic of the FA cup, though.

Looking on the bright side, without the Covid lockdown, there would be 1000+ Whites supporters making their weary way back up the M1. :joy: :joy:

Sorry Dave but I’ve got to congratulate Crawley Town they’re only about 30 miles North of here so kind of local.

Looks like Spuds have ended Marine’s FA Cup dream. Typical of their and Maureen’s mean-spiritedness and disdain for romance!

I know Killjoys I suppose the Spurs faithful will probably all be along later for some bragging rights later oh know sorry they only come out when they’ve beaten Arsenal or for their once in a decade heady climb to the summit of the Premier League.

Maybe the entire country could take a leaf out of Trump’s book and just refuse to acknowledge the result…

As a non-follower of football save for the odd 10 mins here and there, I really don’t understand why the ref issued a red card immediately in the Arsenal game, only to downgrade this post the VAR review.

In what ‘process map’ is this a sensible course of action i.e. inflaming players, any crowd et al, when he could have simply asked to have a look on the monitor and liaised with the VAR official – as is the protocol in rugby when a situation needs review. Atypical shoot first, raise questions later.

I’m not an expert but think that ref’s still have the responsibility of making decisions, rightly or wrongly. They can then be overturned if the decision is incorrect or they’re advised to go to the screen.

I’m personally on board with VAR and am patient with it but it’s not been an easy ride. It almost seems like the people who are making decisions know very little about football at all. It will improve though and think football will eventually be better off for it. Till then it’s not perfect by any means.

Rugby has a lot more history with the tech and is a more disciplined sport.

I think he reacted to the players bloody curdling scream.

An aspect of football I really loathe. He should have been carded too for deception.

I think this too but to my mind that should generate even greater care with the decision and the aspect of ‘what really happened’…and, IIRC, the player concerned got up and was OK?

I cannot think of another sport where the equivalent of a red card would be shown and the decision to do this then reviewed.

I agree, it’s not great. But football seems to have very strange logic and there was a lot of upset about the ref’s losing control to VAR.

Personally I don’t think we’d lose anything if they did as you suggested but it’ll take time for sense and sensibility to creep in.

It wasn’t long ago that VAR was awarding penalties for any hand contact inside the box. Utterly ridiculous but thankfully they saw sense.

You keep writing the same thing each week.

Why are you so obsessed with Spurs all the time ?

It’s called banter WW.

I’m not a big fan of the emoji and almost never use them but just this once

Hah !
Good to see you are a Gooner that can take it
Remember, your fans had donkey’s years of gloating which we Spuds had to endure, before the fortunate turnaround (for us…) in recent years.

We have to make the most of our chance… while we still have it !

No gloating here  but it was nice to see young Alfie Devine score his first senior Spurs goal last night.
The youngest player (16 years, 163 days) to score for the Spurs senior side !

Well done Alfie !
