Tonight the worst team in Premier League history…
…just lost to Sheffield United.
I had a feeling just before Christmas that Manchester City would be the team to beat again this year and after a frustrating start to the season they are looking devastating and whilst everyone around them is dropping points they are not.
That was a huge loss for Man Utd last night but well done to Sheffield United it’s the other Manchester club next could they put together a run now and get themselves up a few spaces I hope so. It will be hard though because City will be looking to establish some distance below them when you think that if they win their game in hand they will be 10 points ahead of Liverpool who you have to say are now looking like not retaining the title but you never know I remember we (Arsenal) where 13 points behind Man U at this stage and went on to win.
There is a long way to go still to go.
A funny old week for Chelsea they have now retained the services of the only comb over left in World football and should have beaten Wolves last night for his first game.
It’s a shame but I think the job was a bit big for Frank at this time because when you look at his whole time in charge it really wasn’t what you would expect of a Chelsea side and after an owner has thrown £200,000,000 at a problem and especially one like Abramovich then there will be a time limit.
Although the results last night were favourable for Spurs and The Reds, it is a big game for both Tottenham and Liverpool tonight.
The way Spurs play will undoubtedly cause Liverpool problems and I dont think Jose will care how they win. Liverpool, on the other hand have big problems in trying to get results against teams that sit back and counter. This problem started last year for both Liverpool and City and it’s still not fully resolved.
It’s an interesting conundrum for Klopp, a combination of players not on their game, injuries impacting on both defence and midfield, means finding a strategy that allows him to play on the front foot whilst not making his defence vulnerable is key this season.
Bizarre team selection for the Wolves game, if Frank had sent that eleven out he would have got a fair bit of stick. Wolves must have been delighted!
WHU have great owners inspired to hire him AGAIN😉
It did seem weird especially Mount.
Hah, never liked Ken Bates as a person, however it was him who famously put his hand in his pocket for the pound and subsequently managed to stop us being evicted from Stamford Bridge by some rather nasty characters in the property world. He also brought in Matthew Harding who really got us motoring in the '90’s so there are some positives.
I think Roman is rather more complex and despite the necessary associations with powerful people in Russia if you’re hoping to continue operating as a very savvy businessman (if you’re going to survive and do well in a country run by a bunch of gangsters you’re going to have to shovel a lot of sh!t…), I’m not so sure he is inherently vile.
Have a look at the Wikipedia page for a quick overview. Having read a couple of books about him he clearly knows what he’s about and is not shy of showing it but at the same time doesn’t come across as somehting akin to a child eater.
Once on holiday and without a book to read I read RA’s biography and yes an extremely astute and very generous man from quite humble beginnings it was his relationship with a certain vodka loving Russian president’s daughter that gave him a leg up.
There are many much worse Russian billionaires and football club owners I would imagine. Oh had he bought Arsenal instead as the rumor goes.
Every job above league one level will prove to be beyond Frank Lampard. He’ll be a fairly dull pundit too I’d wager.
Liverpool are no longer battling for the title. They’re battling to be in the top four.
The title will be City’s to lose.
Arsenal have it within them to make the top four. The changing room divisions were near ended when it became apparent those fighting for Mesut no longer had the man himself wanting to stay. A sharp conversation between those players and the manager, captain and a few others has largely ended the battle bar for one player who I predict will implode on or off the pitch before season end.
There you go. Five straight predictions. Should be able to judge three or four of them fairly quickly.
Wasn’t it just
M.O.T.
Hendo in defence, now this could be interesting…
Real Madrid’s Martin Ødegaard is a great loan signing for us a young player with a huge reputation and a lot to prove. Has been given his chance to really shine probably not but that is a tough midfield to break into but during his other loan moves in both Holland and Spain he’s looked very, very good.
When you’ve played for your National side and for Real Madrid before your 16th birthday then you must be reasonably talented and I’m hoping Mikel and the Arsenal team can get the best from him.
I don’t often watch Spurs but I’m going to watch this one I’m hoping Spurs get the backlash that must be coming soon.
He’s a clever, tidy midfielder with good passing vision.
There is talk of him playing a little bit deeper alongside Partey with Emile Smith Rowe just in front of him and Saka, Lacazette and Aubameyang up front.
I’ve watched a lot of him since the rumors started and I’m very impressed great close control and upper body strength I’m very much looking forward to seeing him play for us though I thank Saturday against United may be too soon.
Well, losing at half time and to be honest deserving it (though 'pool are nothing to write home about).
A lack of creativity and movement, awful passing and when we get a chance we blow it. It’s been the same for a while now. To be brutally honest, a lack of quality.
We won’t come back.
Not counting the goal, I thought it was a really good half of football. And Spurs seem to be a little more progressive/assertive with Ndombelle in the side.
As for the goal, why did not Loris go for that ball, he never looked like he wanted it?
As a neutral it’s not the most exciting game considering what’s at stake but let’s see what happens 2nd half.
