Football Season 2020 - 2021

Luiz has actually done quite well recently of course he is only filling in whilst Gabriel and Pablo Mari gets back to full fitness.

This season was one of transition Mikel and Edu have had a good clear out this January making way for some Summer signings.

From what I’ve seen recently and especially in the first half last night makes me very, very happy for next season.

Its a silly law, at worse it was an accident.

In the good old days a red card was given for actions that were deemed violent in some way or getting two yelllows or misconduct. It was clearly a penalty but a straight red just destroys the game by giving the opposition an unfair advantage. Clearly, in this instance a spot click is reward enough for an accidental trip.

Watched the Arsenal thing. Oh dear. Blip of a result but the current approach to the rules is untenable.

Watched my team play against Eastleigh last night. Ref gave them a penalty for an offence nobody saw; both sets of players and managers agree nothing happened but…

He later allowed a melee to kick off in which the 4th official and liner were implored by both managers to help as the ref walked away. One of our two debutants got a yellow for no reason which has yet to become clear and then, obviously a second yellow immediately for querying that.

Both sets of managers are complaining together to Steve Dunn but nothing will change.

Everton took the points at Elland Road this evening but I thought Leeds were well worth a point. What a delight Leeds are to watch, playing with high attacking intent, pace and lots of technique. About the only negative from this game was the new pitch with players from both side often losing their footing. Thoroughly entertaining.

The Irons looking very strong again. Dream start for J-Lingz. Top team in London still.

All hail the Moyesiah!

Yes, the new playing surface had me checking to see whether Torvill and Dean were on the sub’s bench.

Back on planet Earth here is the real table. Where Man City the lesser of the three or four evils who could win it look favorite to me.

CL spots are wide open though but to be honest a season without the Europa League might not be the worst result for Arsenal. At this point in Arteta’s tenure a season with only domestic competition might be a blessing in disguise .

Well done to The Seagulls fortress Anfield taken over again.

We must just hope that the scummers are relegated and Pompey are promoted. Let battle commence.

So the Southampton Bednarek red card gets rescinded but David Luiz’s is upheld funny that the Southampton one came in the middle of a 9-0 thrashing whilst the Arsenal one came when they where totally dominating Wolves and where 1 up or am I just being cynical.

I think your cynically correct.

I forgot about the Spurs v Chelsea game tonight, this one could be interesting to watch.

What I find amazing is no one has mentioned the horrific tackle for the first Southampton red!

Atb
Kk

That was a terrible tackle in all sense.

Yes I think I’ll tune in as I’ve a feeling Spurs may well be in for a hiding.

Nah. Timo Werner up front. All barn doors are safe.

No hiding was dished out by Chelski but another big L for Jose’s Spurs.

It’s a long way to go yet in one of the weirdest season’s ever this was my prediction
on September 20th last year and I’m still thinking it’s not too wide of the mark.

  1. Man City
  2. Chelsea
  3. Liverpool
  4. Arsenal
