Like others, I have Tidal which streams nicely to my Naim devices (switched from Spotify in the original green screen SU/UQute days). I use it more via (lifetime) Roon than directly within Naim app (and only ever via Connect for beta testing). I also have Apple Music as part of Apple One Family, which we use a lot in car (via CarPlay). I would use it more at home if it were integrated more directly with Roon or Naim (rather than just via AirPlay, I mean).
Qobuz Family and have Apple as part of a package. Don’t use Apple much as I can’t play it with Roon or natively on my NDX2
curious for the Tidal users - do you create and publish your playlists to the Tidal Community - as we could share our lists? - or perhaps our music choices dont overlap much ![]()
Qobuz. If it isn’t on there, I will head to Bandcamp to buy.
I don’t really use playlists at all, although I’m liking the “radio” style suggestions from Roon or even the Apple Music suggested playlists. I guess I could check what my Tidal suggestions are (via Connect or possibly Naim app?)
I’ve used Tidal, Apple Music and Qobuz, but ended up with just Tidal. As it had a larger music library than Qobuz when I compared it a few years back. While Apple is locked in its own ecosystem and won’t play nice with the Sense app on my Innuos streamer, (with most streamers in fact) so I abandoned it.
I also have my own music ripped from CDs or purchase hi-res off Bandcamp or Qobuz store, and most recently I got into vinyl records as well.
Apple Music with Apple hardware is next level convenience.
Screen shots streaming Apple Music on my Apple Watch into my AirPod Pro’s
Perhaps more of an addiction than a subscription. But recording live-concerts (lossless) from the radio - a great feature of Minimserver.
@Simon-in-Suffolk
I am an album listener kind of guy. I just pick an artist depending on my mood and put on an album of his/hers.
Though I do listen to the Discovery playlist on all the streaming services I subscribe to find new music, and if I find a song I like from an unknown to me artist then I dig deeper to his music.
No subscriptions but I do use the streamer to access bbc sounds.
I am happy with my cd collection and Accuphase.
‘New’ music holds no interest. If I want to check out some obscure jazz artist’s work before purchasing a cd I can try free Spotify.
And @Ris . Agh ok.. I love making playlists of musical connections and influences, sometimes going back in time.. I was inspired by Mojo magazine, and there is a BBC music radio programme that explores musical connections in a similar way … perhaps one more for the music nerd/enthusiast.. but I suspect I am one of those ![]()
Hi @Simon-in-Suffolk, nothing like choosing a theme then populating a playlist. Most of mine are well received during social occasions. However there are a couple that Mrs B refuses to let me play in public. Nostalgic and 60’s comes to mind. ![]()
Go on then do share those that Mrs B puts her foot down ro ![]()
That sounds like censorship, as the BBC used to do with anything alluding to drugs or featuring heavy breathing…!
One — Qobuz
Oh dear, here goes
Nostalgic playlist is heavily influenced by music that I heard on the radio in the mid 60’s into early 70’s
Middle Of The Road - Chirpy Chirpy Cheap & Yellow River
The Seekers - The Carnival Is Over
Peter, Paul & Mary - Puff The Magic Dragon
Petula Clark - Downtown & Sailor
Val Doonican - Walk Tall
Etc, etc
60’s playlist
Mary Hopkins - Those Were The Days
Zagar & Evans - In The Year 2525
Donovan - Mellow Yellow
Petula Clark - repeat tracks from above
Etc

TIDAL [My Mix selections brilliant]
Spooky.. that’s on one of mine… it’s also a duet I sing with a good Scottish friend of mine at parties when we have both had too much to drink ![]()
I also sing along to Tweedle Dee, and Tweedle Dum by MOTR
Another evocative pop song from the early 70s is Sugar Sugar by the Archies… playing on tranny radios everywhere. Caught the ear (and unfortunately lodged in the head) of a 5 year old ….
Amazing the power of alcohol allowing us sing out in public places. ![]()
I didn’t say public, these are private parties ![]()
