How tu upgrade from Naim Supernait 2 + Hi-Cap

You need two burndys, the both models.

Ok so I have to buy anothe Naim Burndy cable, Naim does only one type of Burndy, Burndy “A” and Burndy “D” are the same.

The dealer should sell you the right combo of burndys. They are sold as 2 items if you ask for 555dr burndys. 1k in total cost, maybe a bit less.

Ok I asked to Naim directly for to understand what cable I need to buy.

Thank you

I have an nds/ 555 dr. But I don’t remember the exact specs.
I have also the 250 dr but non naim preamp since maybe 10 years…

What you need is a Burndy pair to work with an NDS. They cost about £900.

Or only 1 Burny if I have already one.

But I need to understand if the Naim “Burndy pair” are two same cables or different

No, you need a pair. The single one is different to either of the pair.

So who already has a Burndy that he received with the XPS still has to buy a new pair?

I can’t comment on the Burndy types, I know too little about them. But what I know is that many dealers do trade ins, this would normally imply a reduction on the purchase.

The S-XPS will not work if you want to use both outputs of the 555PS. If you want to use the S-XPS Burndy you can only use output A on the 555PS and you will need to use the link plug in the NDS. If you do this you will not get the full benefit from the 555PS. The 555PS does not come with burndies. The NDS was usually sold complete with the necessary Burndy pair.

I have found only one cable

This accessory would be interesting to insert in every shelf of a Blok Stax rack, I speak only of the glass part (one person makes it to measure).

If I violated some forum rules by posting this photo I apologize and ask the administrator to delete.

Adding other shelves can be very unpredictable. The Blok has little isolation and I would avoid it. Get one of the racks that have been recommended on here, ideally a Fraim.

Just had word my Simrak had been completed. Due to be delivered later in the week. I requested ´smoked glass’, Simon kindly obliged. I like to call it the Simrak 2.0. Pretty sure he will be offering this glass an option in future. I opted for Walnut. Can’t wait for it to arrive. He said it looks even more beautiful in person! Maybe should’ve got an extra shelf to future proof, can always order another, but great how he lines up the grain of the wood! Super excited to get it set up later in the week!! I know the Fraims are supposed to be the nuts, but for aesthetics… in my book the Simrak’s are stunning…

That looks super. I’ve never liked the look of it with the clear glass and this looks so much better. The walnut is lovely. It’s a good deal narrower than the Fraim too, which is great as the Fraim is quite wide.

Indeed HH.
Naim Fraim is 643mm wide overall.
Our Quadraspire Q4 / Q4 Evo is 587mm wide at its widest point
The Simrak is 524mm wide

I see a pair of Simrak racks in our future …

Best regards, BF

Wrong because Naim 555PS DR come with pair of Burndty so I don’t need to buy other Burndty.

Does anyone know which of the two options for a staged move from the SN2 to a 250/282 enables the headphone stage of the SN2 to be utilised? The 282 into the SN2, or the SN2 into the 250? Asking as a pre-loved 282 may be available.

I have the nds 555 dr. I had to buy the burndys. There are 2.
