Insane new pricing in Australia

Thanks, Mike - that’s a good point!

More than likely I’m probably going to pass on the temptation. After sales service is very important to me and clearly it may take some
time to get back on track.

The upside is that it will give me a chance to explore some different brands - for the money I’m in competition with the Gryphon Diablo or the Yamaha 5000 series.

Naim’s parent company is just as much at fault - they let this mess happen!

I’ll continue to support the brand into the future as my Naim Dealer of 35 + years has recommitted to Naim and I want to continue to support him , he’s been marvellous over all those years

Caught up with Harry yesterday while in Sydney he does seem a little more stressed than normal.

He did tell w that the new 333 is around $18k, which is probably where we were expecting it to be.

It’s £7,900 in the UK so a straight conversion gives just over AUD 15,000. With the usual add ons the 18,000 would seem about right.

He is concerned by the pricing his hoping there’s some relief soon.

I can imagine. It’s a lot of money for people to find.

I’d say more actually, as they dumped a well respected and committed previous distributor.

Indeed they did…

Of course A2A could also have pulled the pin.

We all don’t really know do we ?

I have been waiting on a new Naim intergrated, however the distribution fiasco has made a Chord Ultima Intergrated look really attractive indeed.:grinning:

Madness.

We’re months on now and things don’t seem to be going anywhere……Westan were supposed to be having a big launch and ‘push’ the best part of 2 months ago, but I haven’t seen a thing here in Australia….

If I wanted to purchase a new piece of Naim tomorrow, here in WA, I actually don’t have a clue just who/where I would purchase from, excepting the fire sale stock that is still remaining at A2A, which is great cost wise but crap re warranty and support….absolutely crazy. Which leaves ‘remote’ options over East (if indeed dealers there are in a better position) and having items freighted over or, for that matter, back in the UK….

I reckon George at Busisoft really must have someone by the short and curlies….

Think they have us all by the short and curlies

By George, I think you’re right.

Weirdly, the AtA store in NZ no longer shows any Naim products on their web site, leaving just a singe dealer in NZ that is only listing a bunch of discontinued classic gear and current products (Muso, Uniti, 222, 300 NPX and the 250 NC) but not the 332, 333 or 350s.

Yeah, strange the difference……It’s all still listed on the Oz A2A site…some bits slowly selling out, but a lot still there…
I wonder if the NZ site simply shipped stock from AU and they’re no longer prepared to do that…?

Those items you mention are pretty much the same as the bulk of what is listed here…They never did have any 300 series listed as I don’t think stock had arrived before the fall out must have happened….but they must have got a couple of containers of 200 series it seems….

Have to admit, the 300npx keeps looking at me as a future investment……then again, I’m skint!
