Interesting TV

I purchased a Chinese Bluray (LG not a knock-off) and thought the 2 series an enjoyable change.

Was there ever a third season on Netflix? Any search for Lupin 3 seems to lead me to a Lupin anime series.

Thanks.

Some great laughs.

Alphonse’s father is an elderly gigolo who has had a stroke probably caused by too great a consumption of Viagra to help with his work load.

Alphonse has fallen into difficult financial straits so starts to take over his father’s elderly client list.

It bought a smile to an old man’s face and some of the customers looked quite fit to me.

Prime. Dubbed or subs.

The Sackler family are among the sponsors of our local arts festival.

I will say no more

Like Only Fools & Horses for me.

Seen every episode multiple times, know the lines off by heart/exactly what is coming next, yet still continue to watch each time either is on.

Genius TV bringing hours (years?) of pleasure.

Just watched the last instalment of The Continental From The World Of John Wick on Prime which stars Mel Gibson only 3 episodes but they are 90 minutes each, it’s typical John Wick fare with loads of gratuitous violence and a bonkers plot but what a sound track everything from Sabbath to Floyd and some great soul tracks all from the 70’s

Just a footnote to this. Thought you might be interested but apart from all the stuff that’s been made public about the Horizon software faults (network issues, transaction rebuild tools, manual “corrections” etc.) by far the most horrendous c*ck up I have seen was the bug where transaction reversals were recorded with a “+” rather than a “-“. I am so well out of this industry

There can be no footnote until all of the false payments are identified and returned. The number of weekly shortfalls that many post offices made up from profits elsewhere rather than arguing with the software is legion. Each post master must be owed thousands even without the ones that went on to be falsely accused of criminal acts.

I read the Nick Wallis book 2-3 weekends ago and I think it was mentioned in there, though I might have seen it as one of the individual stories in the press in the last couple of weeks but, yes, I was aware of that.

True Detective, saw the first , amazing TV, the second was dire beyond belief , the third had the gentlest and satisfying ending imaginable.

The fourth has a wonderful setting - it is supposed to be Alaska , in reality Iceland with Christopher Eccleston and Fiona Shaw in supporting roles . Is it supernatural or are we being given red herrings aplenty ?

Is it bonkers or just full of bonking ?

Weird and baffling certainly. Worth persevering? Definitely!

I’ve enjoyed them all but I’m ensure where this one is taking us.

Halfway thru episode 4 and I too am unsure , still come so far .

They had two potential new series , one about murders on the train system and the other set in the Arctic - it’s enigmatic to put it mildly

I watched a re-run of the early 2000’s version of Top Gear with Jason Dawe as the 3rd presenter and he’s ‘OK’ and it was ‘OK’ but when you see James in the slightly later series the whole dynamic has changed. There could have been other factors too but it’s like he was the unexpected catalyst that made the brew work.

He (May) was seriously shy when he first started but developed over time and became more confident. Jon Bentley spotted him I seem to remember. He was definitely the most interesting - Hammond always irritated me but the recent smallest cog series has presented him in a better light (though that is ridiculously staged as all their shows are). Clarkson is sometimes an utter boor but often entertaining and perceptive

Think the magic between the 3 of them has disappeared lately. JC has become an everything I hate in men his age.

Dear god in heaven, what did they do to season 2 of ‘The Tourist’? Utter bilge.

Took it to Ireland, I didn’t mind it but it was nowhere as good as the first season.

Season one had such promise. Starting with nods to the classics ‘Duel’ and ‘The Vanishing (original)’ I thought we were in for a real treat.

Season 2 was just cut and paste edits and an irritating looping theme. I preferred Ethan to all of them at the end!

Has anyone else watched the Irish/Belgian production Hidden Assets?

The second series of this engaging and different thriller has recently appeared and is well worth a view.
