Hello Pr8hube I would like to ask you, do you know any alternatives and how to execute them? I am not a pro in this matter of iradio losses in fact I have a first generation unit with a 2D card I tried several updates but impossible to find the radio it is disappointing because I listened to them a lot.
Hi, there are some workarounds from me and other legacy Uniti owners in this thread:
They might be useful to you too,
Very best regards,
Gerard
it’s unitiqute sw2d12905 plus the naim app doesn’t take my ID?
Your unitiqute does not support the new Naim iradio service, as it does not have the 3D streaming board.
me too
Hi Richard
Just a simple question after just reading the following :
TIDAL’s new 24-bit, 192 kHz streaming tier, TIDAL Max, is now available through both the Focal & Naim app and TIDAL Connect.
As my legacy ND5XS and NaimAPP have recently been updated to 4.9 FW and 7.4 can I benefit from the Tidal higher resolution Thank you for replying Benedict
Tidal Max is only available on Naim devices running the current streaming platform, so not your ND5XS as it’s too old and doesn’t have the onboard resources to do so.
crystal clear thanks
Hi, after the update streaming radio has some connection issues. From time to time on my nds music stops and after few seconds, 30 more or less, it starts again. It’s skipping a beat…
I have another streamer and that works fine.
Anybody had same issue?
I tried to reboot streamer and modem, it happened again
Playing music from nas is fine, from tidal is also fine, so defenetely is radio issue. A pity as I was really enjoying nds playing radio.
Hi @Gruido71
re: dropouts
Does it affect all radio stations, or just a certain station / brand?
We have 10000’s of older products now using the new radio service, so there is some hope that it can work smoothly. We don’t host the stations either, we’re the equiv of the Yellow Pages of radio.
Best
Steve
Try using only SD stations, not HD. My QB had a similar problem but only when using BBC R4 HD.
It’s been fine since I switched to R4 basic.
Worth a try anyway
Just some stations, I can’t find what they have in common
Thanks I did, unfortunateky did not change
Dear Richard
I hope you are doing well. I recently learned about the updates to Naim’s internet radio service, but unfortunately, my Naim Mu-so 1st Generation in Taiwan is still unable to access internet radio.
Despite multiple attempts, I am unable to stream any stations. I have already tried restarting the device and ensuring that my network connection is stable, but the issue persists.
Could you please advise if there are any specific settings or updates required for first-generation Mu-so devices in Taiwan to restore internet radio functionality?
I would appreciate any guidance or troubleshooting steps you can provide. Thank you for your support.
Best regards,
K
K, have you fully update the firmware on your Mu-So (2.1.0 or above) and also updated your Focal Naim App (7.3.0 or above)? If so, you should delete any existing radio presets. Otherwise, also try a full power down - remove mains lead - wait a few minutes - then re-fit mains lead and power up again.
Dear Richard,
Thank you for your response. I have already updated my Mu-so to firmware version 2.1.10and my Focal Naim App to 7.4.1. I have also deleted all existing radio presets and performed a full power cycle multiple times by disconnecting the mains lead, waiting several minutes, and then powering it back on.
Unfortunately, despite these steps, my Mu-so 1st Gen is still unable to access internet radio. Is there anything else I can try, or Reinstall the firmware?
I appreciate your further assistance.
You could try a reset of the unit and then set it up again. Otherwise, you may need the assistance of Naim support (support@naimaudio.com).
I had the same issue with one of my Muso-QB1’s where it wouldn’t find any radio stations at all after doing the firmware update.
I too tried pretty much everything and in the end, pressed the little reset button on the back of the QB and held it for several seconds until the wi-fi indicator started to flash and the unit reset.
After resetting and setting is it up as a new unit (reconnecting to the home wi-fi network) and then it found iRadio and I was able to save the new presets successfully.
It was odd as I have two other QB 1’s which both updated successfully without the need to reset them to a factory condition.
Finally, I got my radio back!
Steps to Reconnect My Mu-so to Internet Radio
1. Turn on the Mu-so.
2. Press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
3. Wait for the reset process to complete; the light will flash purple.
4. While the light is flashing, unplug the power cord. Wait a few minutes, then plug it back in.
5. Open the app and reconnect the Mu-so.
6. Delete the built-in radio stations and start searching for new stations again.
Hope this helps everyone!
Great news that you have them back!
After re-setting my QB, I didn’t need to do the power cycle.
Also, I didn’t delete the built-in radio stations, I simply over-wrote them with my choices in the order I wanted them.
