Internet radio not working

Dear NAIM team
Since I bought the MuSo player I only use 80% iRadio.
I hope the naim team can solve the problem related to V tuner.

My equipment:
Date of registration: 29th Dec 2018
Product serial number: 1406010088

Best regards
Paulo Teixeira

I think then they’re saying that they’ll have a fix by February 14 - is there a formal statement from Naim on this? It’s laughably bad from a customer perspective.

Yes, it’s in the pinned thread at the top of the Streaming Audio room alerting customers to the vTuner service outage. It also went out to all dealers and distributors on Monday, and there should also be an alert that will pop up in the App.

Here’s a direct link or you;

This is the reply from Naim I received today

It seems that Naim used an internet service called VTuner for their internet radio services on first generation streamers. VTuner have changed their service offering and are no longer offering free internet radio connections, and this has meant that Naim’s internet radio service on first generation streaming players has been stopped . Naim are working actively on a replacement in-house version, so hopefully this will be sorted soon via an update I believe, and Naim will have a solution that won’t be subject to 3rd party issues in the future…

As soon as the update is available, we’ll let you know.

All iradio not working on all our Naim devices, Muso, Atom, nd5xs ea92. Can anyone help ?

See here;

The good news is that your Atom can use the new in-house Naim Internet Radio service right now. See details of the new service in the link below:

On your Atom just make sure the firmware is up to date and delete your old vTuner presets.

For older 1st gen streamers the new radio service should arrive with a FW and App update on the 14th February. However, if you get your Atom running with the new service now you can send it via the multi-room feature to other devices in the meantime.

Thank you, Richard. Will the update for legacy products apply to my Unitilite? It’s not listed in the announcement.

Yes it will do. I list it in my earlier post. Naim must have left it off in error in their communique.

I think a popular acronym should be altered to RTFT for this thread. :thinking:

I have an NDX whose display doesn’t work any more (not uncommon, as I understand). Will this affect my ability to perform the required update on Feb 14th? Thanks.

The firmware is updated via a computer attached to the rs232 socket (or mini usb), you don’t need to see the ndx screen for that part of the procedure.
Factory reset (if needed) is like this; NDX factory reset without display - #2 by ChrisSU

The RS232 is a mini USB on later models.
A reset to factory default at the end of firmware upload was required in the early days, that requires some button pressing to select that prog on the front screen.

Maybe think about sending the NDX to the factory for a new screen, the update will get done in that process.

My wife complained her QB2 radio wasn’t working anymore… Does Naim really think she will look for a forum to find out how it is possible and how she can solve it herself?
This really doesn’t fit a lifestyle product like the Muso QB2, isn’t it dear Naim?

Your wife’s QB2 is already able to use the new in-house Internet Radio service. You just need to ensure the firmware is up to date through the App and delete old presets. Dealers were informed of details back in September and details of the new service have also been up on Naim’s website since then:

If you require further assistance then there’s this forum of course, but also Naim support either by phone or email (support@naimaudio.com).

Richard, I have an NAC 272, a Superuniti, a Qute 2 and a Muso QB.
Internet Radio is not working on the Muso QB and the Qute 2, but FM radio works, I didn’t try internet radio on the other devices, will it be the same problem?

Separately, my Qute 2 screen is gone dark (can not read it), is it possible to update the firmware without the screen being visible?
