As I was bringing in my tree through the front door, my neighbour asked if I was putting it up myself.

Here’s our beaten up fibre optic effort from Woolworths, bought some time in the 90’s. It’s so bad that we love it, and still use it.
The one with the revolving disc above the bulb in the base to give the moving colour scheme? Mrs Deeg still puts our’s out every couple of years… we have lost a number of the stars though.

Ours is being assembled by my daughter - as much as I like a proper tree a few of the family seem to react to the ones we’ve had in the last few years so the trusty old Homebase tree has come out of storage. I’d quite like a more modern one as some of them look really nice, but we already have too many Christmas decorations scattered around the house and storage units, and I currently can’t find the lights!
