Maverick hifi show 2024

Agree, well done Dunc, and what a lovely ammount raised for charity !!

I’ve not seen the Kudos 808 taken apart, I can see what the price of them goes towards. Looks very complex in cabinet design and build and that costs money to get right in a 4 cabinet speaker system.

They are a complicated design, and the way they go together.
Still haven’t even started putting it all back.

Trying to picture you today, it was very busy, and i guess we spoke?
But if you did introduce yourself, i am sorry but i can’t remember.

Could you place faces if you remembered the music :musical_note: :notes: played, just a thought.

Rather naively I thought being probably the only person there with a Dublin /Irish accent most forum members would guess it was me.

I had a rather fetching Horslips / The Tain T-shirt on

and was there for your Sunday afternoon AC/DC explosion. You kindly played Sandy Denny /Fairport’s “who knows where the time goes” and “two of us” from the remixed Let it Be.

I suppose we were all at an advantage knowing who you were. Good to meet you and I appreciated hearing your system and your openness to playing “requests”. I hope your Mum is making a full recovery.

I remember now, didn’t realise that was you, you should have said.
Also sorry for the very loud ACDC, but sometimes you just have too. Plus it help show it could rock when asked.

Thanks for asking about my mum, she came home last night, still under the hospital, but glad to get her home.

I came to see you just before you left for the lottery draw if that helps and you played me a track by Low, which sounded great by the way :+1:

Sorry we had to cut things short. But had to go to the raffle.
Glad you enjoyed your track.

No worries mate, I was restricted to time or I would have been back, it’s down to you and the others giving up your time that made the show what it was, hope you can make it back next year :+1:

Well vic was talking about doing it all again next year on Saturday night, let alone after Sunday.
We both fully enjoyed it all, as why wouldn’t you.

But i hope that next year if we do it, i can get a bigger room, to show off the system more, or we will bring a much smaller system.
But lets see.

I’m trying to remember a track i was asked to play.
Unfortunately, it’s not on my tablet as it only holds so many, and this was earlier in the day, and so got pushed of the search list.
Anyway it was an excellent track if a bit strange. A mix of modern and orchestre, i stopped it playing as i through we had interference on the network at the time. If anyone has any idea ehat it might have been rlthen please say.
As i would like to find it.

Sorry Jim but that’s not it or them.
I so wished i had taken note, but just so much going on, i just didn’t.

Doesn’t look like i am going to find it.
Shame but not to worry.

Cheers dunc

If you bring the system up again I’d love to hear it.

Just noticed 50th anniversary version of the Grateful Dead film on YouTube.

Similar build operation to the Maverick show except on a slightly larger scale:

Stacks of McIntosh amps, literally.
