Naim Chrome Bumper

Nice, but can you do that without a mod? Mod free zone here :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Where is Neil when you need him. Too busy with primordial objects I suppose

You can, just by running one channel.

Well the leads from the NAXO to the
Amps aren’t carrying power so a set of ‘custom’ leads should be permissible (to feed only 1 channel per 110) :innocent:

Back in the day some folk ran 250s as mono

NAPSA had a wheel/knob to switch on and off.

The original vintage active shoebox system consisted of a NAC42XO and a pair of NAP110s driving a pair of ARC101s, Saras or active Kans.

Could the naxo run off a cb hicap?

Yes

I heard that wasn’t so great though. What do you think?

I’ve never heard one. I was told though that a NAXO was much better. Most NAC42XOs were converted back to NAC42s.

Final score is 10 then - two banks of 5 with an lp12 on top and pair of active kans/saras - nice!

Too many boxes but I bet it still fits on a single fraim stack

Yeah, two 110s is plenty for active Kans and keep the Naim cabling spirits happy too

Not to mention that life was not so stiff in those days. I remember NACA4 which was the only part of the Naim CB amps that I sold on.
Shame that I did not keep it, but at least I kept and serviced the amps

Awesome!

The 42, 42.5 and 62 preamps

Do they have MC boards ?

Thanks Richard

I wonder how many vintage systems are out there that have really been looked after.
After all it’s nearly 40 years ago.

I have NAT 01 tuner, NAIT 2 , NAP 110 and 32.5/HiCap/250

In pristine condition

But yes good question, 40 years such a long time
