I see you have a couple of spare spaces in the Fraims, leaving you ample room for some 135s. I kid you not: see if you can get hold of a pair. I don’t think you will regret it.
P S I am not one to spend other people’s money, but in this case I will make an exception
Hi @BigAl, well spotted and yes, one of those spaces is indeed reserved for 135’s. I want a pair to match the grey facia’s and am happy to wait for the right ones to come along.
Hi Graeme. It may be worth getting in touch with James at TomTom, for example, to see if he can source you a pair. I got mine from him and they were not even listed on the TomTom website. I think I contacted him speculatively and voila!
15 years later they do need a service…
The use of a silky blue duvet cover with the contentious upright-on-end zig-zagity stacking order never really caught on…
and must of been one of the reasons naim invented the fraim
Geoff, i have a copy of that booklet brochure -
it’s one of my most treasured audio literature possessions
Meant to post an updated picture in here showing the now newly cabled set up, including a HiCap alongside the 62/140.
I now have a pair of serviced 322 phono boards inside and new Naim feet on all 3 units too.
Sounding brilliant whether fed by the Rega P3, CD or via the Chromecast Audio . It is running Linn K20 speaker cable to a set of Danish made Eltax speakers.
@Debs@Clive Sorry for late reply, I really do appreciate your responses - thank you - it’s been one of those days when I just didn’t know how to answer or if I even needed to…
The Offline Cross Diagonal set up for the tuners photograph was previously only known by a handful of people who were a pre-internet group of specialists (myself included) with the ability to find the strongest radio signal in any given area…
While I think of it, after the naim square brochure came out which featured the full Olive range, Linn made their next product brochure in the same format - 210 x 210mm. I had a couple of discussions with different naim staff about it at the time and I recall Julian saying to me, with that big grin of his ‘well, they are trying to catch up with us’!
Yes, we still use ours albeit not nearly as much as the ‘fruit box’ but it would be foolish to ignore all those cd’s!
Gets some flak from other members but it does us.
I also posted on system pics. Got all the Olives back from service. Was very impressed by the the packning, cleaning, and they also fixed the Burdy cable. I now run the 82 with 2 hicaps. Initial impressions is very positive and the CDS now works perfectly. Only issue is that I need to figure out a way to get the Wulkan on the wall … bad floors.
Olive (S)NAXO 2-4 (I have both) are arranged “one 250 amp per speaker”, unless you have either (a) persuaded those nice folks in Salisbury to change it, or (b) been “a very naughty boy”.
I thought I’d answered this only a couple of days ago…must be either deja vu, or I don’t know what day of the week it is!
Hello Josaa,
Super system
I like especially the ability of the olive to give to the music an unique poetic charm with power and rapidity in an homogeneous overall presentation. “Absolutes muß“ as they would saying on the german side of the Rhein!
