I can see why you would be attracted to it and I agree with the sentiment. I think one of the best things about the UK is the very diverse population. When I used to commute to London every day, I would occasionally think that in the underground carriage no-one other than me was a white middle-aged male, and I liked that.

A print by Bob Barker, called “We Go Together Like a Wish and a Smile”.
We met him at an art gallery where he was promoting his work and had a long chat about his techniques and use of family as models. The red umbrellas and held hands forming a heart shape are a feature in many of his paintings
The picture has spent a few years hiding in a spare bedroom, but when we have finished decorating the living room, it will be going in there, possibly above the hifi. I guess that will be up to Mrs G though.
This was my favourite for many years before he gave it to me - the perspective is annoying but otherwise I look at it and wish I could paint as well (might be able to if I practised enough). Happy childhood memories again
He made my wife pay for this one as a birthday pressie for me (annoyed my brother who had wanted it for himself - he used to live near here). He was an architect and spent time in retirement doing some drawing and painting but selling very few
Did you hang it in the window? Can understand you not wanting to rock the boat though sometimes you have to ask if you’re in the right boat to begin with.
In the end I decided against it, but at least the purchase price goes to two good causes, which is what matters. That’s wholly positive, and with many of our neighbours - most of whom are around 80 - struggling with the lockdown it’s simply not worth potentially creating waves.
