Naim owners Artwork

I think it’s very different and I like it , as a personal painting for the family it’s very good , but a more formal painting for the National Gallery ? (say)

I like the ones of Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III.

DG…

I thought it was excellent.

This generated some interest, so I thought I’d post the source.

Just a bit of a follow up re the portrait of Gina the unbelievable.

An interesting effect from the sun as its light came around the side of the house.

Bought this photo of Whitby harbour by Frank Meadow Sutcliffe.

Printed in Jayscale Duotone. Whatever that is, it’s very impressive, when my wife saw it, she thought it was a painting.

What year was the photo taken?

According to the Getty Museum 1880.

The original print is a lot darker.

Sepia?

Looks like they’ve given it a refreshing hue for a more palatable picture hanging, and it looks a lot better.

Amazing how sharp many Victorian photos are!

Indeed, it is sharp but it’s been messed about with. Look at the sail in the middle of the original.

Maybe it’s a different photo. Taken 10 minutes earlier or later.

It looks like a different photo to me - the small boat at the bottom left is at a different angle in the two pictures.

Think you’re correct there’s other inconsistencies as well. A bit weird really.

Indeed:

Well, my picture is genuine. I wonder if Getty are aware they have fake.

My comment was lighthearted and I apologise unreservedly if it was taken in anyway other than banter
