My Supernait 3 volume knob is loose,
May I know is this normal or I need to glue to fix it
See here:
How to slotted a bit of cable tie in and pushed the volume knob back?
You’ll need to remove the sleeve to get access. Be sure to unplug first though!
Can you give me a picture for example
Unplug. Turn the unit upside down on a soft towel or similar. Have a good quality set of hex head bits or Allen wrenches handy and remove the feet and the retaining bolts. Make sure the hex heads fit perfectly and are good quality as otherwise you risk rounding out the hex, in which case it’s a pain as you then will need to drill out the bolts and replace them. If in doubt ask your dealer to do it for you. Then carefully turn the unit back over holding on to the front and then slide out the inner tray/fascia assembly.
Note that the LED wire needs to be carefully dressed around the volume shaft so it doesn’t bind up as the knob moves back and forth.
No need to remove the cover Richard - just cut a suitable shim (e.g. a cable tie) that fits snugly into the slot on the pot shaft. Then dress the wires loosely around the shaft & refit the knob in the correct position.

Neil.
Any photo for reference?
Thanks Neil, I just though It might be easier with more access afforded by the removal of the cover.
No, sorry - it really is simple, just make sure your shim is no wider than the pot shaft & fills the full length of the slot.

Neil.
Hey Neil,
I’m watching this thread out of pure interest.
I have a SN3 but I’m baffled as to what the fix looks like.
Think it is one of those that once you know then it’s obvious but until then it’s obscure as hell.
If I ever had the issue then I’d love to know what the solution looks like.
All the best
Adam
Turn the volume knob anti-clockwise to take up much of the slack of the LED cable with the potentiometer in zero position. Plant volume knob back on the shaft at around the 7 ‘O clock position. Job done. Listen to some music.
I’ll see if I can find a picture next week.
Regards
Neil.
Spot on!

Neil.
Cheers Neil, much appreciated.
If use cable tie, the tread is covered and the volume knob can’t fit
Just put a piece of tape on the pen and you’re done—what a discussion ![]()
