Native FLAC via iRadio?

Some time ago I changed the RP URLs. Try these:

Btw, I saw you connected to Frankfurt, not to Phoenix.

I was trying both b/c they were buffering bad. The phoenix ip seems to be working now. All have the buffer at 100%. I’ll try and listen for an extended period and see if it holds.

The distance Scottsdale - Phoenix is a little shorter than Scottsdale - Frankfurt  So, latency should be neglectable.
Next to that, there’s also the radio station itself. I often listen to SuperStereo 1 (Chile) and from time to time to Intense Radio (Netherlands). Both of them are hard to get at 100%. The first because of the distance, the latter because of the 24bits depth. Nevertheless, the buffer doesn’t have to be at 100%, that’s the goal of a “buffer”. Obviously, the higher the better and safer to avoid drop-outs.

There must’ve been something going on yesterday b/c they were all buffering and the max I saw was 70%. My internet seems fine though and my minimserver stream doesn’t drop out.

Added SuperStereo 2 and 3 to the list. Here is the full list.

Added some more stations. Worthwhile trying is Mother Earth Radio (96kHz/24bit).

Initially started as a home project kind of thing, the software today is at V5.2.090721 and running both in the US and Europe providing a solution for those who want to enjoy hi res OggFlac streams on Gen 1 Naim devices.

Next to that it’s also a perfect solution for “downmixing” HD only streams to MP3 or AAC for listening on mobile devices or devices not supporting HD streams.

What happened amongst the 1.0 and the current release is mostly about the options to dynamically update radio stations, logging, buffer size and supporting different output formats (AAC, WAV, MP3, …)

I would say it’s mostly cosmetics. Up to now, the kernel design (security, request interpretion and dispatching) proves to be ok as from day one.

Every day (or night) Russians & Chineses keep on trying to hack into it. As I log the incoming requests (in case of anomalies), it’s amazing to see how retarded they are. So, FWP is not suffering on this at all.

If you’ve any other HD stations I could add, please let me know.

Hello Kurt,
I have added the stations in flac.I want to convert them from flac to wav,but in vtuner I can’t select wav in type.

For vTuner, this is just metadata. You can put “Windows Media” as type.

Hi Kurt,
thank’s.Does the bitrate stays the same,1141?

Sorry,I ment 1411

For WAV yes.

That information (format, sample rate and bit rate) is generated by the device and sent to the App. I don’t analyse the streams.

The most recent station list can be retrieved via:
URL Europe: http://158.101.168.33:9001/fwp/stations
URL US: http://129.146.133.23:9001/fwp/stations

I add some stations on a regular basis. Feel free to send me new links.

I have a Muso v1 on my network that I mostly use for multi room. I just realized I don’t see the added stations from the Muso, only the 272. Would I need to add the stations to vtuner again for the Muso to be able to play them?

Yes, you need to log into vTuner separately and add new stations again for each Naim streamer.

Thanks, just wanted to be sure.

Indeed. Same here. It would be great that if you add it to your vTuner account, it would be populated to all your devices. But we’re not there yet.

Ok, I think I see what you mean now, do I need to use a second account/email for an additional mac address/device?

No, you can use the same account/email address. You just have to logout and change your MAC address.

Ok, thanks, I’ll give that a try.
