Hi all,
The current version of the software seems to be pretty stable. Now, it runs in the EU and in the US, which should resolve most latency issues.
Drop-outs may still occur, but this is not related to the software. Personally, I listen a lot to Super Chile 3. Worked as a glance up till 2 weeks ago. After emailing them, they told me they’re changing their broadcaster, causing possible interruptions.
I don’t monitor all the stations (158.101.168.33:9001/fwp/stations) on a daily basis. So, if some station doesn’t work, just drop me an email so I can further investigate.
I programmed this not only for myself, but also to let all Gen 1 device owners enjoy the hi-res quality. Unfortunately, this also attracted some audience with less good intentions. So, first I made sure the application survived a “denial of service” (DOS), but now, I’m facing a new challenge: Idiots setting up multiple connections (not even a streaming device) and let it run forever; just to spoil bandwidth, CPU performance and memory. Sad to see this, but that’s the world today It seems.
Today’s solution for this is me restarting the service. In the next day’s I’ll implement “aging” functionality that will drop connections when it’s open for more than X hours. Initially I think about 8h. This will not affect you. Current version displayed in your app is “V5.5.270721”. Next version will be something like “V5.6.xxxx”
For those who’re dropping in now > It’s about Hi Res streams on Naim Gen 1 devices. Info here > http://158.101.168.33:9001/fwp/stations
In case of questions, drop me an email.
Cheers,
Kurt
