NDX & SUPERNAIT Thread

Oh wow. Thatā€™s a ridiculous amount. I haggled over an ex demo one for Ā£950, which seems a lot more reasonable. Maybe something will come up on fleabay?

Have just ordered an ex demo XPSDR. Am hoping that will be the wallet closed for the foreseeable future now. I always try and buy acquiring a good deal, as they retain their value quite well and I justify it as an investment

There over 3ks here as well. If I used SL everywhere itā€™d cost almost 15ks. Itā€™d want to make a difference. :scream:

Isnā€™t the new price for SL cables similar everywhere?

New price in the UK for SL 5pin to 5pin 1.5m is Ā£1925

These cables are very expensive at full retail and surely aimed at an elite few who have the disposable income to even consider them.
Of course their complete systems will be extremely expensive which also equates to being more sensitive to the changes brought about by such cables etc.
The law of diminishing returns is obviously at the very high end for these.
While the wealthy and passionate audiophiles can pursue improvements at this level, the rest of us need to operate within our respective systems/available income etc.
I am confident that these cables would not make a cost effective improvement to my NDX 2/SN3 system, it is nice to read about how the other half live and the improvements that they can achieve.
It is a shame that Naim do not have more cables at different price points to suit those of us with all in one/classic/500/statement systems.
Always great to read about what may open up if I win the lottery!

It is just an interconnect from the preamp (SN) to source (NDX). As itā€™s the NDX-Supernait thread. As far as Iā€™m aware only one would be required.

But yes understand itā€™s somewhat of a luxury itemā€¦ i planned on getting a hiline but heard they are fragile so a SL going for half price and took the risk. Iā€™m sure thereā€™s probably comparable cables non-naim branded that do a similar job that arenā€™t quite as expensiveā€¦

I just bought a HiLine S/H to go between NDX2/282 and, of all 3 Iā€™ve ever owned, itā€™s plugs are much more stable. Still separate rings, but much firmer overall.

Did the manufacture change/improve later after the problems became apparent I wonder?

NDX2 is up and running but canā€™t access internet radio, nothing loads from vtuner. Tidal works perfectly, Iā€™ve reset router, switch and NDX2 but no different. Anyone come across this?

Nice floorboards!

The input setting is switched on?

G

Thanks but there are no input settings for iradio bar changing its name

Sorry, just checked mine and you are right. Iā€™ve no other ideas Iā€™m afraid.

Mine has been running a month now and sounds superb if thatā€™s any consolation.

Thanks Graeme, yeh Iā€™m not sure what the problem is - very infuriating. Right now itā€™s not sounding great tbh and the Nova into the SN3 sounded considerably better but Iā€™m guessing thatā€™s a running-in issue (hopefully!) I might bring it back to my dealer tomorrow and try it on their network and see does iradio work or if itā€™s a problem with the unit itself. I must be jinxed as Iā€™m on my second SN3 too!

@Hollow donā€™t have an NDX2 but iRadio wasnt loading for me tonight too for some reason.
I restarted everything but RP still wouldnā€™t load.
UPnP/Unitiserve on the other hand no problem.
Maybe thereā€™s an issue with it today?

Reload the app? Iā€™ve just checked mine and itā€™s working fine.

Been there done that - no joy unfortunately!

Hi Hollow, just got my second SN3, playing great through Roon, saw your post, changed to Naim app and tried radio. Guess what? It doesnā€™t work!
This always worked before - will try again in a few hours.

Ok interesting, if I select the radio it just chugs away but wonā€™t load any menus - is this what youā€™re experiencing? Obviously itā€™s nothing to do with your new SN3 so whatā€™s changed?
