I see the discussion of the new Bedrok plinth has been turned into a show me your LP12 thread.
I asked to see plinths as I am interested in buying a non bedrok one! Do you have a problem with that?
I appreciate the pics and discussion about plinths. Surely looking at comparison plinths to bedrock is relevant?
Why not start a new thread rather than hi-jack this one?
You can do that, or you could just glue a rectangular piece of plastic or metal to the rectangular plastic section at the rear of the hinge to stop the spring eventually penetrating through the plastic which is why over a period of time the hinge fails. Such a simple remedy to a problem that seems to cause quite a few of you to replace hinges over the years. This should prevent it happening again.
It’s a problem with a simple remedy!
KR,
Peter
No plans for this as far as I’m aware these hinges are for the LP 12–50 only ![]()
The really interesting, so I just went up the garden to inspect my hinges and find that there is no penetration of the plastic. It just seems like the spring just isn’t stiff enough any more to hold up the lid which I guess means that if they are original they eventually weaken or it’s possible they are sub standard 3rd party replacements.
Apologies to the thread drift police ![]()
All was said about the bedrock.
If @Antz is annoyed by the plinths discussion, he will tell us. No reason for you to be negative. Or open your proper thread then, like bedrock part 2, the sound quality corner.

more than happy, I would add the new posts with better photos than I took on my phone @Cymbiosis day do far more justice to the Bedrok, but the only really way is to go and hear it for yourself, an LP12 owner for 20+ years and I was very impressed with the uplift over the standard plnith
Thanks Peter, I’ll try the tin method first as it’s not seen. If it’s too difficult to ‘slide’ in then I’ll glue a piece as you suggest ![]()
Well, many of us are getting to “that age” aren’t we. ![]()
The Stiletto is an interesting product. There is little information about it on the TA website. I often wondered what users did for a baseboard and support for the turntable. Since you started this thread maybe we can get some input from owners and or pics of their setup.
A look down the ‘Show Us Your Sondek’ thread answers this, e.g.
more than happy to comment - I use the standard Trampolin 2 which is NO issue for the weight of the Stiletto, other owners I know have the Skorpion base which is a further upgrade again
my Stiletto sits on a FULL Fraim which has perfect Isolation, I have never had an issue with LP12 jumping
Like @HappyListener I refer you to the Show Us Your Sondek thread.
I collected my turntable after it was upgraded to Stiletto/Skorpion/Revolver at the beginning of last month. It sits on Fraim, one tall, one medium and two standard height shelves. It’s perfectly stable, although the Aro will wobble if I press the mute button on the preamp with too much force, but it would do that when I was using the Linn baseboard (with Urika). The Urika is now fitted to the Skorpion.
Very stealth and buisness like Clive. ![]()
Ready for action. ![]()
The finish of the Stiletto is top notch. It looks better in the flesh. Full stealth look. I am interested why @Antz didn’t get the Skorpion base. Did you try with and without?
Obviously it’s £1500. And then there is the option of the Eklipse the sub platform for a further £1500. What do these upgrades do?
