It is obvious that she was wishing to also have a camera to capture the inconsiderate guy who was interrupting her peaceful afternoon.
It’s a nice area. Did you venture into the dunes?
Not on this occasion but have done previously - an amazing area
Out for a day trip with my wife on Monday up to Whidbey Island
A walk around Fort Casey and a visit to the Admiralty Head Light.
Down the sound on the Hood Canal is the Bangor US Naval Submarine base for the West Coast and just so happens a boat was being escorted into port by the U. S. Coast Guard (USCG) Maritime Force Protection Unit. The submarine is still submerged running between the two large escort ships. The escort ships are armed with gyrostabilized machine guns, with advanced optics, which are fired under remote control from the ship’s bridge. The gyrostabilized gun’s greater long range accuracy make it more appropriate for intercepting speedboats laden with a suicide bomb. There are also three smaller armed coast guard vessels that were darting around out in front and on the flanks of the escort vessels as well.
As the vessels traveled further down the strait the sub surfaces as it approaches the entrance to the Hood Canal.
Just had the iPhone and it would have been nice to have one of my cameras with a long lens…
Inquisitive Robin.
Taken yesterday in the ‘cottage garden’ at Chatsworth House, Derbyshire.

I visited Fort Casey in the early 90s and stayed in Oak Harbor. It reminded me of Officer and a Gentleman and at the time the island was gently buzzed by A6s.
Somewhere I have a picture of sunset at the Deception Narrows bridges. I must see if I can find it. I just love that area. Scenically beautiful. It was a mix of sunshine, grey skies and cooler temperatures and as a Brit I felt right at home.
V&A Museum & RRS Discovery. Getting a small exhibition there, and my book launch in September. Quite excited to see the publisher’s final edit this week.

Yes, just what we did. First time I’ve been to Wells. I guess this is what you do there!
If the Adirondack area isn’t God’s country, it’s one of them. (Maybe not so much in January…)
