At primary school one of my classmates had a 1962 World’s Fair pen with the Space Needle on it, which had a lift/elevator that went up and down as you tilted the pen, from memory.
I finally saw it for real in 1991, together with the monorail (dated forever by a Simpsons episode and I suppose Disney World!) and I realise now that 1991 was a long time ago.
I do love Seattle. Must go back if I can persuade my American wife to go!
