Nice Photos

I took this photo in the chapel of Christ Church College in Oxford in 1976. When I was a boy I spent several summers in Oxford to improve my English, I attended the Swan School of English in Bambury Road. I was staying in Wolvercote, and my mode of transport was the bicycle. I have wonderful memories of Oxford: the colleges, Carfax, Blackwell’s, Ashmolean Museum, Radcliffe Camera, the milkshakes at Brown’s, the evenings at the Lamb and Flag… this city has remained with me, and I was happy to share these memories of mine.

A hidden haven of peace and quiet, tucked away from the noisy, commercial mayhem of Naples’ Centro Storico.

If you want to see what the city could really look like you might like to move to Ercolano. It’s the better preserved side.

Thanks for the advice Gianluigi. We are now back in the UK but visited Ercolano last Saturday. We both agreed it offered a different experience to Pompeii, having fewer visitors and more intact buildings and frescos. The sun also made a welcome appearance!
