Not one drop of rain on Arrakis
The landscape of South Oxfordshire has looked very alien these last few weeks with white-gold fields broken up by green hedgerows and the occasional farmhouse that now looks like a desert oasis.
Watching the combines in recent days, with their dust clouds, reminded me of the spice harvesters in the 1984 version of Dune.

Now South Oxfordshire used to be my old stomping ground, but I don’t recognise the location, can you enlighten me as to the location of the oasis is this desert please?

For location, the Goring to Ipsden road is on the right and the oasis is where it crosses the South Stoke to Woodcote road. These are un-numbered rural roads, home to tractors, trailers and combines at present.
To jog your memory, some years ago there was a temporary airfield that would have been just out of shot on the right. It was home to microlights, gliders and the odd autogyro.
