Enjoyed that… hope the games are similarly fun.
I’m going to try and get some sleep, that was mad.
BBC … so Michael (Johnson), how did you find the opening…. Errr, different
Well that was absolutely rubbish.
Hopefully they’ll replace the BBC commentary team.
Perhaps Graham Norton could inject some gravitas…
Boooo.
I really enjoyed it. I’m clearly not as discerning as you boring old fu…ers who think you are so superior. Vive la France.
All of it, or just some of the three hours.
I found elements of it entertaining… bad luck with the weather didn’t help but because it was split over a wide area, there were long spells when nothing seemed to happen or felt dragged out to get to the next venue. When it’s in a stadium it’s more of a focused event!
Brave decision to try something different though!
Bet this thread doesn’t get as much activity in a single evening again.
Absolutely agree - just too disjointed for me.
Agree Vive La France too
I thought the open ceremony was fantastic.
Seeing Rafael Nadal in trousers for the first time ever - and he isn’t even French.
Cerrone Supernature juxtaposed against the laser show on the Tower was spectacular…
I thought the rest was bollo….
Let’s see if we are as successful as last time in Paris.
Somehow I doubt …
This is how it is done.
It was nice and diversified. Only 2 too long moments with the horse in the water and the conventional speeches.
My favourite moments : Imagine song by Juliette Armanet, the laser effects on the tower, and the balloon.
I learned something too. Didn’t knew that Eiffel Tower was sponsored by Audi.
I forgot the green woman handing the unbrella. It must have been a very hard moment for her.
Carl Lewis, Serena Williams, Lebron James, Giannis Antetokounmpo….
A great evening’s entertainment FR. the rain didn’t help but all the performers gave 100%. I am sure it will be a great olympics. Thanks too to the entire French nation for being hosts this year.
It was a magnificent effort.
Completely mental mind.
