RadioParadise Flac Streams not working

I’m putting that url in to vtuner which in turn brings it up in app on my NDX 2, Radio Paradise is working fine as is JB, I wonder are you transcoding an MP3 in to FLAC inadvertently?

Here’s my transcoding setting. Not sure if that’s doing it or not.

This is what I get…

@Adrian_P Not sure I’ll have to play with that. I use the test at ssllabs. We’ve left things pretty backwards compatible, the current config passes for all versions of Java.

@jarro Strange that the icy-8 server works but not stream.radioparadise.com. is there a difference in SSL versions between them that might cause problems for a Java 8 client?

Thanks @Stevesky for bringing @jarro along to add an inside track to RP,

Jarro please stick around.

Two of my favourites brought together, Naim and Radio Paradise

:grinning:

@Adrian_P Thanks that narrows things down. I’ll be back with some alternate links to test.

Got a few things to try and narrow down the flac issues. If anyone that was having issues could test these, that would be appreciated. I’m hoping two will work and one won’t.

http : // test-flac . radioparadise . com : 81 / flac
http : // test-flac . radioparadise . com : 82 / flac
http : // test-flac . radioparadise . com : 83 / flac

Spot on, @jarro – :81 fails with the ffmpeg error I reported above, the other two work ok.

Is this related to the SSL issue?

Hello, on Minimserver 0.8.5.2 and MiminStreamer 0.7.17, 81 fails… 82 and 83 work.

Thanks looks like that is something I can download, I’ll see if I can reproduce it here. @Adrian_P @dknk

@jarro MinimServer is a UPnP server used for streaming locally stored files to devices like Naim streamers. The MinimStreamer add-on adds the ability to play and transcode network streams (such as the RP FLAC streams).

The current generation Naim streamers are able to natively play FLAC-in-Ogg container streams but this is not supported by the first generation of streamers. The best way to play these streams on the older streamers is to use MinimStreamer by having MinimStreamer trancode FLAC-in-Ogg to PCM. Transcoding is done using ffmpeg, which you’ll also need if you want to replicate the setup.

@ElMarko, Sorry for the mixup on my part. The http streams are working for me however I was not using Minim*. I set up Minimserver on a spare Raspberry Pi, used your m3u file, and see that they don’t work. The icy-8 ones listed on this thread do as you and others found out. Looks like the RP tech is on the case, good luck all.

@Adrian_P Thanks for the info, the 0.8 download link seemed broken. So I tried the 2.0 trial everything worked for me in that version. There are a couple of small things I can try changing that might help. I’ll come up with another test link.

81 fails for me as well with 82 and 83 working.

Could you give step by step instructions on how to get minimstreamer to perform the appropriate transcode please
Thanks

Got MinimServer 0.8 working locally.
The planned update is available here to test.

https : // stream-test . radioparadise . com / flac

We’ll have this live before icy-8 goes offline.
Thanks for everyones help.

Thank you, the stream-test url works here on Mimim 0.8.

@Stevesky is it feasible for you to add the RP FLAC streams to Naim’s Choice in the app? Thanks.

This one works for me with minimserver 0.8.5.2. Thanks.
