Probably safer than living in a city and as you say the wash blocks are, well a place to wash and sing happy birthday I guess!
I have a trip booked for late May, fingers crossed. Might limit what we can do though I suppose.

I know, itās really not easy. Ten minutes ago we cancelled a booking for tonight at Falmouthās best seafood restaurant (waiting list minimum 3 months for table). Weāre going ahead with hosting a games/curry evening on Saturday, provided our friends are still asymptomatic. There has to be an element of common sense / risk balancing to all of this.
Certificated sites night be a better bet - we prefer them in any event, not being particularly social or herd animals!
We were supposed to be going to Souter Lighthouse for a week, from Friday. Weād booked B&Bs each way and decided not to go because of problems eating out while at the B&Bs. The NT have moved our booking to March 21. I lost a Ā£20 deposit on one B&B but quite honestly they need the money.
I do too normally, but the Devizes site is right by the canal and really nice. I doubt there will be many there anyway. We are booked to go to France for nearly a month from mid May. The ferry is paid and site deposits. Obviously itās not going to happen and we are waiting for Brittany Ferries to work out what to do. Hopefully we can shift the booking to next year or get our money back. Who knows when life will get back to normal? When a vaccine is developed I guess. A year? 18 months?
We have decided to go into a form of isolation. We live in a small village & the village club has organised shopping help for those who need it, but as the published virus cases throughout the county are very low & it feels very much like business as usual when walking around. (I expect thatāll change if the statisticians are right)
The house backs onto open countryside, hills woods & miles of walks, so thankful for that & also that the ground is now drying out.
The Jamie Cullum gig was cancelled last night so at least we did not have the bus ride & planned afternoon in the city.
The rest of the family are all working & as some are sharing door handles & canteens with so may others, maybe best they are not on the visit list.
Shall we start a thread on Origami ???
You could, but itāll fold very quickly!
Itās just another paper exercise!! Sorry, Iāll get my coatā¦
Howzabout I call it The Origami Mania Thread, itāll last & last, long after this corona pop thing.
If you go into isolation to avoid getting it you should ready to do it for a year, until a vaccine may be available.
True isolation & carrying on a normal life is impossible, thats not what Iām doing if you re-read my post, Iām just limiting my social contacts & following what is advised by the government experts & aligned to the age & health profiles of my household.
Truth be told no one knows how this is gonna work out, is the UK Gov advice the right path, why is it different compared to other countries, when will we get a vaccine, will the antibody solution be a possible fast track holding solution, will herd immunity come into play or will it simply not work as looks to be the case in Italy.
I suspect when this is all over & the data is analysed, there will still be disagreement over what was the best path.
This is really confusing for my voluntary work: the charity is all about breaking social isolation to support the mental health of vulnerable people!
(OK, yes I do know the difference between social isolation, social distancing and shelf isolation (sic) for biosecurity. In fact, on a serious note, telephone and/or other electronic contact between people becomes even more important now to reduce the detrimental mental effects of social isolation).
Also hereās another thread about shelf isolation:
Now thatās what I call shelf isolation!
You crease me up !
OK. Weāve all been expelled from the big brother house and must work from home indefinitely. I see the advice now lists āthose at increased riskā and it includes me so will probably just sit it out and hope that my wife - who works in school - and my youngest - still at said school - donāt bring it home!
Hey hoā¦
G
Good luck and keep safe.
Take care Graeme.
It looks like my daughter has it, dry cough, temperature, feels grotty etc.
Hubby has to isolate at home & wait for developments, ditto the grandson.
Ironically sheās a microbiologist & the product director for a mini DNA analyser that can get results in super quick time, and guess what the whole world wants them in the Sars-Covid research.
Hopefully another good news story in a few days Mikeā¦and goodness knows we need them.
Best wishes to you and yours.
