Songs You Really Can't Stand! šŸ˜‚

Most things I have heard from Radiohead. I bought ā€œOk Computerā€ because of the reviews. Severe case of believing the hype.

Gee it’s great that we’re all individuals

Amusing to see that the thread is expanding from songs to bands, genres must be next, although Christmas songs seem to have already been mentioned.

Anything and everything that has Rod Stewart’s voice attached to the end of it. To me it’s just a no no.

My objection to Christmas songs is the way that supermarkets make them obligatory listening.

Cliff Richard singing Mistletoe and Wine makes me want to do something highly illegal with a sprig of holly to the person who forces me to listen to such awful drivel .

Oh no, not Steely Dan!

I pity the poor staff who have to suffer this mind numbing music for the months before Christmas. I have read interviews where shop workers say this music drives them crazy.

Exactly

One of the joys of being streaming-only is that one’s listening room doesn’t become cluttered with albums/cds which have lost their appeal.

I treat my CDs like books that I’m going to read again one day but I never get around to it

Ah yes. A first verse of four questions, the answer to each one being: no.

Well there’s quite a few, Mull of Kintyre, friggin CĆ©line Dion but most that painful dirge that Bryan Adams did for that Robin Hood movie!

Surely that should be there’s always more than one…

You mean William Blake’s rhetorical metaphorical verse in his beautiful poem that was created to stir and capture the imagination of the reader to aspire to improve and build a better future for us all? and with Hubert Parry’s music the singer… I guess poetry is not for everyone…… me, I am rather fond of Blake’s works, including his critique on social inequalities.

Be interesting if we had a Poems You Really Can’t Stand! - how many would and could contribute…… perhaps not so many.

Another ghastly moment in the history of popular music…

Livin’ On A Flippin’ Prayer.

Uma-uma-uma-uma-uma-uma, agghhhhh !!! PLEASE STOP !!

Yeah, that’s the one. Doesn’t work.

Probably because it relies on belief in a fairy tale.
