My objection to Christmas songs is the way that supermarkets make them obligatory listening.

Cliff Richard singing Mistletoe and Wine makes me want to do something highly illegal with a sprig of holly to the person who forces me to listen to such awful drivel .

You mean William Blakeā€™s rhetorical metaphorical verse in his beautiful poem that was created to stir and capture the imagination of the reader to aspire to improve and build a better future for us all? and with Hubert Parryā€™s music the singerā€¦ I guess poetry is not for everyoneā€¦ā€¦ me, I am rather fond of Blakeā€™s works, including his critique on social inequalities.

Be interesting if we had a Poems You Really Canā€™t Stand! - how many would and could contributeā€¦ā€¦ perhaps not so many.
