Songs You Really Can't Stand! šŸ˜‚

On the Naim label, there is an artist called Seward. I choose to believe they were signed by someone without ears.

The vocals on every track are rage inducing annoying. I honestly don’t think the words ā€œartistā€, ā€œsongā€ or ā€œmusicā€ apply here. More like grim cold war era psychological audio torture.

Visiting a Steam Fair last weekend, full of traction engines etc, some classic cars, with period fairground rides like merry-go-round, and music provided by a couple of fairground pipe organs. Plus a modern Walrzer, complete with excessively loud thumping ā€˜music’ - no evident tune or singing, just thump, thump, thump - deafening nearby and annoyingly audible 100 yards away. So out of place -I’m surprised the organisers didn’t require it to be turned down to not be audible outside its own spot.

And, even worse, that hideous audiophile thing by Dire Straits with the trumpet.

Anything by Nick Drake

I didn’t know it so I watched the video (which is not bad I think). Well, I’d play it ten times in a row to be saved from Bohemian Rhapsody (I just hate every Mamma mia sung or pronounced in any song).

I tried to imagine Happy differently arranged and sung by Ray Charles and all of a sudden it became a glorious piece of junky irony…

Anything with a trumpet unless at the back of a large orchestra

The Elvis Costello version of Shipbuilding?

Not a Fred Wesley or Maceo Parker fan then I take it?

Anything by Jimmy Nail or Celine Dion

I had to Google them! Jazz and soul are non-starters for me, and I dislike most brass unless in the background, including sax though not strictly classified as brass, but there is more sax I like than things with obvious trumpet - and I even have a sax myself!

I think Google misled you. These guys are pure funk.

Maceo Parker is really good.

Maybe I should add funk to my list of disliked genres!

But then there would be very little music worth listening to :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

More prog rock, classical, rock and opera than I will ever get to hear or buy, plus bits of other things like folk - plenty for a lifetime and more of enjoyment!

Search : ā€œMannequin - Kids from Fameā€ on Youtube. The song is unlistenable AND the video unwatchable. A unique double ?

Now genre’s are being discussed, for me ā€œclassicā€ rock, especially from the 70’s, I’ve tried numerous times and still do occasionally try to give it another listen but always come away with the same feeling, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Eagles, too many to mention. Just not my thing.

Oh and also Metal from any era.

Apart from that good with most other things even the much derided Christmas music.
