Streamer for Nait 50

I have not made any direct comparison at home (in my system and room) but elsewhere Neo Stream was soundwise a step up compared to Node (when using the internal DAC) - larger more organic sound and a wider soundstage. Node has a slicker user interface though if that is important.

I have not heard Eversolo myself however, I came across to this statement when reading the reviews:

I may have been spoiled by the iFi Audio Neo Stream I reviewed before the DMP-A6, and the Neo Stream still has the upper hand in audio quality in terms of timbre and insight (as it should for the price). The Eversolo has that slightly dry and more linear sound that won’t work in every system, and I’ve found myself (subjectively) leaning more towards a natural sound that just makes you get lost in your favourite tracks. - Oscar Stewart, HiFi Pig

Have one with the Nait 50 using its analog outputs and sounds very good, the speakers are the Audionote K-Lx, that means that they show pretty much everything, and they are showing a great sound

Nad CS1

A potential option for the minimalist paring with the Nait 50 would be the NAD CS1.

End Point Streamer

  • No Software
  • No headphone amp
  • No inputs
  • No remote

Connects to Tidal & Spotify plus AirPlay 2 @ CD quality.

If you want to improve the sound later on, optical out to a DAC.

I think a ÂŁ2699 amp requires more than a ÂŁ299 streamer.

Depends on priorities. Mine’s a raspberry pi.

Chromecast as well.

And supports roon. Pretty much does it all.

Yes. I rather buy a nd5xs2 and a sh Nait XS than an el cheapo streamer and the Nait 50.

For example, Qobuz natively on the Naim streamers just sound much better than using airplay or chromecast.

But a Raspberry Pi can be tweaked.

Nice looking streamer.

I use Qobuz for their Jazz collection and like it very much.

Not in the market for a Nait50 so no skin in the game. However, given that nothing is going to visually match I would go for something that can be hidden away out of sight. Accordingly, I would look at a Raspberry Pi streamer solution with something like a secondhand Chord Hugo as the DAC - shouldn’t sound too shabby and wont break the bank, need to leave some budget for the obligatory Linn LP12 with a Nait50!

You could also hide an ND5 XS2 out of sight…

Well yes, but seems a shame!

With BluOS.

Interesting from Cyrus.

Basic model with option for baby PSU.

Big brother with display and option for the full fat PSU.

The price differential between the two models I don’t get. Why bother with the basic one, who wouldn’t pay 500 quid more for the better spec.

Unless classic + PSX-R is significantly better than basic Stream-XR. With PSU there’s a 2k price difference between the two box sets.

Nearly bought Cyrus monoblocs back in the day. Have always liked their form factor.

My iPhone connects me to my streaming sources (Tidal & Apple Music) with the Classic. I don’t need a screen or other digital inputs.
Having said that, for future options or to sell, the XR would be the prudent purchase.

Are they already available outside UK?

Doesn’t look like they go on sale here until August/September depending on retailer website.

Not in Canada.
