So, fired up the Audiolab CDT6000, powerline mains, Mark Grant co-ax into the EverSolo - running on the std stock mains, and Naim Lavender RCA to Din into the '50, running on a Powerline Lite.
Played 3 CD’s, London Grammar - reproduced the detail & delicacy well, pretty good. Then tried something completely different, Leaves’ Eyes and Moonlight Haze…again not bad. Not as good as the thro the Linn DSM, however very listenable.
Next, played the same songs via Qobuz…I thought this may be better, it was a little different however not necessarily that much better…
Overall, not too shabby…impressed given the cost of the ES and Audiolab…
(The ES is also available with a better DAC for a premium…)
I am delighted with my Eversolo. A lot of streamer and associated tech for the money. Sounds wonderful to date through my Nait 50. I’m pleased with my decision to front my 50 with it. Hope yours works out for you too.
I personally don’t find this to be true anymore. Going back a few years, yes, but “classic” Naim and mono x era Cyrus aren’t so diametrically opposed. I went from Cyrus pre x mono x to Naim quite happily without a perceived juxtaposition or askew jump in sound presentation. Even more so now, the new Cyrus ix9r (I think that’s right) is a solid performer and worth sn audition at its price point.
A CB streamer to compliment the Nait 50 with no screen would be a winner. Imagine all the new Nait 50 owners that would get one (that are currently crying out for one!) and then the is the classic CB market. The old Nait 1 & 2s owners and not forgetting the CB pre/power owners too. And would it not be great if it had a variable output - just 3 positions: the standard 2V and then 1V and 0.5V so the original CB brigade could have some play in their volume knobs and get rid of any volume imbalance at low volume (Nait2 mainly). Could be a 3 position switch at the back or handled in the app.
