I think the problem is you have a The Fall box set next to a Fats Domino box set that is just not right in terms of sonic pairing.

Thanks for the comments. Before the little one turned up it was very tidy and ordered and I could pretty much find a cd on request. Now there is no chance. She loves moving them!

Here’s my humble system.
Uniti Atom
Harbeth P3ESR, Eucalyptus.
Technics SL1200. Modded with an external PSU, Mike New bearing, SME 9-2 arm with a Goldring 2100 cart which doesn’t do it justice.
Rothwell phono preamp.
A huge downgrade in terms of boxes but a decent upgrade in terms of sound. I’m happy as a dog with 2 d#c#s.
Roon (trial ) currently running on a mid 2010 Mac mini.

Its awesome IMO. Whilst it is a modest system by comparison, the two components work well - really well. If i choose to go further in terms of spend, ill keep the Qute2 - its just so good for the price point.

I went minimalist with just a MuSo which is now used as tv sound bar.
Starting to clutter things up again with Nova and Special 40s. The grey finish on the 40s is superb. Determined not to go back to racks of gear.

Oh dear John, I started off with a Muso, then added Uniti Core, then Nova and speakers, then power amps…now ND555, best of luck. Room looks very nice.

Gaza, I’m determined to keep things within reason. I have however, already bought a power line and am thinking of introducing a sub and power supply for the Zen.
It’s fatal to stop enjoying the music and start listening to the sound.
