We don’t have access to the vault but that’s funny it was a health food store. Lots of similarities.
Bit of a change. The sideboard style cabinet has been relegated to vinyl storage only. Replaced with some Isoblue
Newly acquired Whest phono stage added. Very happy with this.
Hi @DanielH,
That looks good. Is there any reason for having the Hicap at the top and the Supernait at the bottom?
Still a work in progress, but the new listening room is progressing quite well now and sounding fairly promising, but with some issues to hopefully be ironed out. despite being under furnished, the sound is well resolved and clear if bright and leading edgy. Curtains will help I hope. Mid-bass can also honk at times on certain recordings. That may be a more intractable issue relating to room shape which is within one foot of being square…
Lovely job!
I do the same with mine funnily enough, makes the speaker cables run out of the way of other cabling I find, NAC A5 in my case.
I’d be inclined to put the HiCap on the right hand side to keep its transformer as far away from the digital section of the ND having said that.
What a beautiful room Kevin. Very nicely done.
I also finally made a decision on getting all the Fraim uprights the same colour. If anyone recalls the thread discussion on anodising/powder coating vs change to new Naim components, the cost difference wasn’t really that great so these are new Naim parts. I think looks much smarter than my previous mix of black and silver uprights.
2 reasons, my speaker cables are not long enough to put the SN2 on a higher shelf. I also like the way it looks with the Hicap on top.
You use both of them? love those speakers
For time being, yes.
What is your priority?
looks a beautiful room Kevin. Well done.
NBLs will get their chance in a week or two before I audition possible replacements but this is a first shot using my allaes in a dry lined room, I say first shot but there’s several weeks of playing with positioning to get them there. They still look way too far out to me compared to the two other rooms I’ve used them in, though previously only with solid walls and a Rega Maia giving them what for. The Fraim placement is where it is so that my speaker cables will reach and the French window miss the turntable when it swings in the breeze. Given longer cables there is another possibilities but it puts the turntable right in a corner and a third requires speakers further out in the room so the stacks can go behind one of them. One final option puts speakers in a 3m wide leg of the L next to a raised alcove on one side of the fireplace which currently holds our wine fridge.
Nice turntable Yeti
Is the tiled floor being dealt with nbls may suffer substantially
Didn’t know there was a piano black version out there. Nice!
