System Pics 2023

Nice. There’s quite a few people with DIY builds on here. There’s a few dedicated threads like:

I also just built myself a pair of Troels Gravesen’s 3WC-15.

I hadn’t heard of the DIY Sound Group before, I’ll check it out.

Well, couple of years ago my XS2 did pop sound as well… only too loud and was broken.

In certain volume level, the pop sound is acceptable, indeed.

My still new Sonus Faber Minima Amator II making beautiful music in the evening.

I longed for that CD player…great system, if only we had the opportunity to listen but I’m sure it sounds as good as it looks

Hi Marty,
It’s the most musical player I’ve ever listen too. The nait and royd’s brings me back to the sound where it just started. Also play with a sonneteer Alabaster and the SBL’s ,….better hifi less fun….
Cheers

Just for you, order is restored. Out with the blanket, down with the Nova, and in with the new lamp. You were right, of course.

Living room is looking very inviting and comfortable, Nigel. Your DIY work looks indistinguishable from what I’d expect professionals to have completed.

Many threads we should open:

  • show us your lamp
  • show us your blanket
  • show us your system without blanket
  • with the lamp switched on
  • with the lamp switched off

It looks like a lovely relaxing room to enjoy music in…

No clock yet…

Hi Mario

According to my long suffering dealer of 35 + years , the Linn Kendo is a lot better than the Krystal and well placed in the range . Quite a few of customers have upgraded to the Kendo

But definitely not in the Kandid league which one would expect for the price differential

Cheers

Hi Bevo, I think your long suffering dealer is the same as mine, and what a wonderful guy he really is.

I guess that the Kandid will be one thing that I stretch for one day, but times are tough at the moment and the Krystal is great value for money. I just know now that things can get so much better.

I like the look of the Kendo, and interested in how much of the Ekstatik it can actually capture for less than half the price, but the Kandid is the one people still rave about.

Yes Mario

I’ve got 2 LP12’s

ARO and EKOS SE arms

Both have the Kandid

Personally I prefer the ARO/Kandid set up to the EKOS SE/Kandid set up

Good points on both probably just personal preference really

Won’t be going to the estatik level - out of my price range that’s for sure - here in Australia it’s double the price of the Kandid

Yes we should be acting our age at this stage :joy:
