System Pics 2023

I thought this had been lost to the ages. My old A60. Never knew what happened to it but visiting my brother’s farmhouse in Belgium this week I found it in his basement. It doesn’t work. Needs a lot of TLC but it’s going in my luggage back to Japan for recaapping, switching, potting and fitting with a 100v trabsformer.

Looks like some bug has laid eggs in it too.

It must be a bug in the audiophylum…

I’ll get me coat…

I agree. Swapping speakers every now and then is a great idea to stave off the urge to upgrade. Under-utilised idea in my opinion.

That’s a lovely lamp! Might I ask where you got it from please?

Spitalfields market in London… £35 I think…but I’m sure they are available in other type ‘artisan’ markets!

That’s great. Thank you for letting me know.

Lovely and sunny this morning

Lovely set up!

Is that a Sean Jacobs powerblock ???

Not sure if other Naim (expert/knowledgable) forum members would suggest that the Innuos kit would be better if powered on a separate spur to the Naim kit or not but I guess both those wall sockets are probably on the same spur anyway.

Not mine, but I did listen to it this afternoon…

It’s HiFi Pursuit Listening Room Dream No.1 by OJAS (Devon Turnbull), at the Lisson Gallery in Marylebone – until 26 August.

Your impressions?

Sounded pretty amazing – both turntable and R2R machine.

Watching TV in 2023 but going back to 1987 Series 1 - Episode 2

Whilst episode 1 was based on the turntable manufacturer in Episode 2 we see Inspector Morse at home and his system.

Not sure about the speaker placement.

Watching on ITVX “iplayer”

Naim and Magico are not exactly a common combination, does it really work? Listened to the Magico A1 at my dealer, sounded quite stiff and sterile compared to other speakers.

Good authority has it as a Roksan Xeres but that doesn’t look like what’s in this picture.

Just my opinion, but this must be the least visually appealing system I’ve seen in my life.
It reminds me of a performance of Die Walküre I saw in La Scala decades ago; everything was that same color, including the music.
