System Pics 2023

I’ve also added a bit of lean back to mine to get the tweeters pointing at my ears. Worthwhile doing.

I have seriously been considering that very idea in the last hour…:+1:t3::slightly_smiling_face:

Just cut a couple of pieces of timber 300x80x20 and slipped them under the front Gaia’s.
I know 20mm is a bit extreme, but it was what was to hand.
It has made an immediate difference to the dynamics of the vocal.
I will experiment with the Gaia’s over the coming days and see what works best. :slightly_smiling_face:

Mine are at the extreme positions of the floor spikes. About 16mm at the back and 24mm at the front.

So that’s a Net difference of 8mm then.

Supercap warming up nicely. Had about an hour so far and so far so good. Just starting to come on song but Tesco has just arrived and Need to sort tea out. What mundane lives some of us live in between listening sessions..

:+1:. But I sit quite near. The speakers are firing across 3m and are 10cm from the rear wall. My head is about 20cm from then opp. wall so that makes my ears 2.7m ish (less the depth of the speakers) from each speaker. The speakers are also that distance apart.

Stacking police will have a field day, but this is a temporary situation whilst I work out best placement for third system.

Good to have the Densen gear back from full shake down and service.

Haven’t powered up the B300 power amp, letting the B100 Beat stretch its legs first.

B400 + CD Player sounding very fine indeed.

Stacking penalties abate with each successive system, such that by the time you are on your 7th system, they are unmeasurable!

Scavenged enough cables to get the power amp deployed now, think the Technics may have the hump.

Weekend job to sort out where the Densen gear will be redeployed in the cabin.

Upgrade to the kitchen system Quad Vena II Play > Unity Atom. The Quad gets very favourable reviews but the Atom is in a different league albeit ay 3 times the cost. The sound quality with the Quad was not very good which I guessed might be due to the speakers, but the speakers sound fine now. Also the Play-Fi app used to control the Quad was awful.

That’s Chapel Point I feel sure.

Software is as important as SQ when it comes to these types of devices.

Agreed, my wife stopped using the Quad for music playback due to the Play-Fi app. The Naim app is faultless so far.

Certainly is. we stopped in Mevagissey

nice one @GeoffC could you describe the difference between SN and 332? I am also considering 332 for a change in the future

Hi @krautnaimie

It’s early days, in fact I haven’t had the new preamplifier running for 24 hours yet, but it has started off magnificently. It is pulling much more info from the recordings, and everything just gels better as a performance. I expect further improvements as time moves on. Certainly you should demo one with your own system to see how it integrates, I am very glad I did.

Thanks @GeoffC for the information

I bought my SN3 and HC DR in 2020, so I am not in a hurry. Besides that I first have to collect money. first addition should then be NAC 250 or 350. maybe a SN 4 or SN NC could also be a possible upgrade in future times.

Sounding GORGEOUS:blush:

The DVD draws are being revised with new runners and handles as the fancy soft close/self securing runners failed. Should be back by Monday🤞🏼
