Thank you.
It’s really ROCKING at the moment.
RUSH playing at 11 on the volume control😁
These Gaias are AMAZING!!
Love that Nak and great to see another SO stand still doing service.
Great looking room and system QuickSticks, liking the “playing at 11 on the volume control” man after my own heart, you have to feel the music as well as hear it.
Hi @carruthersesq, is that the High Output or Low Output ML. If it’s the HO I’d love to know how it fares on an MM Phono Input?
System looks great by the way🙂
The “L” means low output. MH would be the high output
IIUC:
EL elliptical low
SH shibata high
ML microline low
etc
Nope, not without a SUT or similar. The MH should though, and is almost equally highly regarded. A few reviews compare MH with ML, or maybe SH vs SL, either way, the HO equivalents seen to be well reviewed too.
Thinking of putting an MC back on my other TT (Project Perspectiv), but I’m currently using the Roksan’s internal MM Phono Stage and didn’t want to get another Phono Stage if I could get away with using the internal with an HO MC such as the Hana🤔
EH, SH or MH then
I’m loving my new DV10X5 - another HOMC. Not urgently, but would like to have a listen to one of the Hana HOMCs too
This is my first post for about 20 years (old forum). Hopefully this will work! So what hasn’t changed in the last 20 years? Most obviously, the Obelisks. Just haven’t found anything to replace them. Possibly Hawks? Unfortunately I hear that Shahinian have stopped production. Hopefully this is temporary. I will perhaps listen to Kudos. The LP12 is still there. It survived a journey to Seattle and back. The only parts 20 years old plus are the plinth, the top plate, the outer platter and the lid. And last but not least, the 252, bought just after they were introduced whenever that was. I’ve swopped out the Supercap for DR version. Relatively recent additions are the the ND555 and NAP300. Sounds great to my declining ears.
HI and thanks.
As @gthack clarifies it is low designated by the L. The high is also well regarded and would work with an MM phono stage.
Welcome back
Is the floor suspended wooden? I’ve thought about granite pads under my Keilidhs but can’t seem to motivate myself to buy a couple.
Thanks! I was interested in reading about the New Classics and also getting some new music ideas.
I bought my Keilidhs with the granite plinths all those years ago. They are much better with them then without.
Mine are now with my brother in law and I often wish I’d kept them…
A lovely looking toon to enjoy music in
You mean Kustone? I was wondering whether additional granite under them on a suspended floor would make a difference?
OH! I see…
Yes, the floor is battened on the concrete and the boards nailed on top.
I never felt the need for anything more under my Keilidhs, but the Dynaudio’s were definitely struggling before the Gaias and I wanted a hard surface rather than Carpet for them to stand on. I had the two Granite Slabs hanging around, so put them to use
PS. I was looking online for slightly bigger ones (400x400) as these are 400x300 and only just big enough. Found some for £2o for 2 10mm tiles.
Thanks. I’ll stay as I am then with my feet up
I would be careful with even eh, sh and mh Hana carts. I find they need more than the standard mm settings. If you like it’s an in between mm and mc setting. Standard mm input works but sounds a bit flat.
