That’s a lovely setup you’ve ended up with
But he said « not an audiophile setting, so don’t start « ….But yes, the confortable chair is a good start
Recently a long-term plan was realized! I said farewell to my beloved SuperNait 2 and welcomed home a 282/250 DR/HiCap DR, purchased ex-demo from my dealer. The system is now really well-balanced. Source is NDX 2 with 555 PS DR. Speakers are Focal Kanta No. 2. It sounds just amazing. As much as I think the SN2 is an amazing piece of kit, moving to these separates has been the single biggest upgrade I’ve experienced. I am ridiculously happy.
As always, I’m grateful for the collective forum wisdom. This is a really pleasant place to be, to learn, and to share.
Yes, I’d imagine they’re pretty rare. I also have a portable DAT, a Sony TCD-D100, which I’ve used for some live recordings.
Yes, so do I
I had an Audiolab 8000A and then an S. The 8200 series is very similar in style.
I like the look of the new 9000 series, and I see that they are introducing a lower-priced series as well, the 7000.
Good grief! How time flies!
It’s Saturday morning here and I’m in love with your setup, what speakers are they?
Thank you for a great reply👍
Tannoy Eaton at a guess?
Tannoy Legacy Eaton In secret thinking about where to go if upgrading them. But they paint such big pictures so not in a hurry
All that room treatment and then you have a guitar right next to the speaker?
I love his Maggie’s! I’m wondering if he tried them with the tweeter ribbons to the inside? I’m sure it sounds great!
Not sure a ukulele will have a significant impact. Maybe he plays along while listening?
Hahaha!! A little ukulele that found a home there for a bit.
Plus we found it sounds better with the ukulele there than without, so now we are recommending everyone put one beside one of their speakers.
Sometimes I do play along. If the song is simple enough. . .
I’ve got to admit I do rather like the look of the Tannoy Legacy range and yours look like they belong where they do.
I particularly like your AV cabinet. Has a certain ‘mid-century’ look to it.
Is the wooden handled arm chair an IKEA EKENÄSET? If so we have have the 3 seater version in our sunroom.
Thanks. The cabinet is an IKEA Stockholm and it does look nice. And yes: the chair is an Ekanaset. I really like it and love the looks of the three seater version as well.
But shouldn’t there also be another one next to the left speaker? You know, for more more balanced soundstage.
Will try it out and report my findings.
