Yes correct, plates are quite heavy so should reduce any resonance. Honestly not sure I hear the difference, but as you said I think it looks smart. And wife is happy as she wants to keep the cabinet (so no Naim Fraim).
It is not a proper Anglepoise, it has a Paul Smith logo on the base, in line on-off switch, and as you say shade is a different shape, but the flex is hidden in the square section tubes (I think, hard to see)…a knock off!!
I thought we would be in trouble…
Where is the “… becoming a more tolerant gang.”
Surely if a comment does not appeal or interest, just move on.
Life is too short to comment in a straight-jacket, and such diversions are interesting, look at the comments that follow, and show there is more to our dull lives than the latest upgrade to a Naim system.
Maybe closing a topic 3 months after the first post is the answer
maybe just move on if you are not interested…
Richard is only asking for any future lamp chat to go in a new dedicated thread.
Why should it be in the systems thread?
People come here to look at system pics.
I take it you wouldnt have an issue with supermarkets putting the semi skimmed amongst the dog food then?
I am very interested in “system pics”
Oh dear!
No, not really, just as here I select what I am looking for, or am interested in, and put what I want in the basket and leave what I do not want on the shelf.
Simple exercise of choice to select what I want.
“Padded Cell”? So last year Richard.
Ha! So true! Edited…
I’d suggest you might like to start a dedicated ‘show us your wilted flowers’ thread. It’s time they went in the compost bin.
On the subject of diversions, a slight diversion can be fun, but the line is easy to cross. Starting dedicated show us your wine storage / NAS / wilted flowers / bottom threads are invariably dull and die rapidly, so a little bit of jollity on here can only be a good thing.
I blame you for having the lamp that started “Lampgate”!..
The Anglepoise in my bedroom, sitting atop a Castle speaker:
Not an Anglepoise, but I nice looking lamp in my opinion:
I have, I think, finished upgrading the bedroom hi-fi. Latest edition is an Audiolab 8200CD cd player with a very nice DAC with 4 spdif inputs (two coaxial and two optical) and a USB input:
That’s better!
