System Pics 2023

The tape was pure pig intestine from the BASF farm that fed them an iron rich diet. The whole contraption ran on heavy volkorn brot, bratwurst and pickles inserted via a slot in the side. It sounded good though. And in a pinch it could be used to make sausages.

Love that radio.what is it?

Thereā€™s a lot of irony in that statement Pete. :sunglasses:

It was a little tongue in cheek mixed with some irony. However I see the lack of tolerance bit was way off course.

I sometimes think we take ourselves way too seriously here.

Took a trip down south with Harry last Wednesday

Now have the Core and nDAC with the naim chrome bumper 32.5/hicap/250 second system

I wasnā€™t happy with the naim nSAT speakers so we took down a pair of the recently released bookshelf Neat Petite Classics

Naturally I kept them ha - nDAC and those brought the system to life :+1::+1:

Do like the look of those PMCā€™s.
They sit well, within your lovely room environmentā€¦

How do you get on with them, with your SN3 ?
Did you consider other options?
Iā€™d be really interested to hear your thoughts on this topic?

p.s. appreciate all the ā€œsystem picā€ photos youā€™ve been posting. Nicely done :+1:

Itā€™s a DIY kit I bought from eBay for Ā£13. My daughter loves the purple circuit board. You cannot possibly imagine my surprise after 3.5hrs of soldering all the components in place when I switched it on and it actually worked. I surprise myself these days more than I care to admit :grinning:

Hi @ratrat - thanks for your kind comments.
I think the SN3 drives the 25.23s very well. I also had one of PMCā€™s previous iterations, the GB1iā€™s. I like their speed, soundstage and midrange. They are relatively easy to position with their front facing transmission line.

I home auditioned Spendor A7s and B&W 703 s3. I wanted to try the Dynaudio Special 40s but never got round to them because I just didnā€™t want to give the PMCs back when I hooked them up at home.

The 25.23s are connected with a long run of TQ Black II speaker cable. If Iā€™m honest I wasnā€™t too keen on the slanted look but itā€™s really grown on me. Bought the speakers about 5 years ago before moving to current house which I think would take the 25.24iā€™s but Iā€™m more than happy with how they make the NDX2 and LP12 sound.
I use PowerLines and a HiLine and have ensured none of the cables touch (not too hard with a simple system). Love the set up and no urge to change anything unless something konks out!

Thank for your comprehensive reply. Thatā€™s all useful to know.
Go take a look at ā€œThe Best Things, (Come to Those Who Wait)ā€ posted today, if youā€™re interested in my own journey and thoughts about speakers.

The quality, but also simplicity of what youā€™ve done is to be admired.

Thanks again

Yeah, I had it a few weeks ago - felt like doo-doo for about a week and another week to get ā€œcleanā€ per home testing, even though I felt better. The only lingering effect is mild bronchitis that just wonā€™t go away; not even enough to keep me off ice skates.

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve been on ice skates DrMatk :grinning::grinning:

Try it!

Itā€™s a hard thing to shake bronchitis is a worry as I do have a bit of a gravelly cough.

At my age I could see bad things happening ha

Iā€™ve been staking on thin ice all my life.
