System Pics 2024

I’ve demoed a lot of speakers and landed on the Menuet SE after demonstrating them against a pair of Neat Petite Classic. Although not as weighty they completely thrashed the Neats on detail and midrange in my opinion and as a fan of acoustic music it was an easy decision. I honestly can’t recommend them enough and they just get better every time I hear them.

Thanks. The system had been temporarily set up previously so it’s nice to home it at last. It’s bloody great

It looks really nice sat on the sideboard and any stands would really spoil the look. I don’t envy you polishing those mirror drawer fronts though!

Now you’re settled, it’s time to take off the protective plastic film from the Atom. It looks much better without it, and the front is actually very durable.

This sounding much better than anticipated

It’s apparently 100% the case. My audiophile part couldn’t resist.

It’s that. But the fishes prefer to humm rather than swim.

Detail and midrange are critical I agree. I use a pair of Atohm GT1 stand mounts with a pair of RELs as I love the clarity of the Atohm.

Cheers. I play my 78 collection on that :+1:

A shady photo from the house of green lights. Got a brand new CD5si today. Don’t quite know what to think about it yet as I had a friend of mine’s CDX2 for several weeks before this and my own previous Unico CD wasn’t bad at all either. Time will tell I guess.

Nice to see some Grand Pianos… SF and Naim work always well together.

I got a CD5si , I added Isoacoustic pucks, a Chord Shawline power cord and Chord Shawline interconnects

I am happy with the sound - and indeed with my Nait 50 very pleased.

Fully accept that there are bigger, better systems - I want simplicity

Lovely simple system and looks great “ I’d get a velvet pad or rubber coaster under the watch though.” :scream:

The watch has been removed , it is possible that if I move from this house and into a flat I may use the CD5si with an analogue headphone amp for late night listening , that will give an "all day " system and a late night system

For me , with a cataract and both knees needing a replacement , I want to keep sound as clear and rich as possible but with a minimum of boxes or smaller boxes

Great idea and best wishes too. :+1:t2:

Oops. See listening thread!

Weirdly (to me) that makes the new Classic series look like 8 tiny boxes than the 4 big boxes we know they are!

I use my CD5si with beyerdynamic headphone amp

and beyerdynamic T5

They give a very good sound together - both were purchased post covid and reduced cost - headphones had only been tried once

Nice , I have several permutations in mind perhaps a Graham Slee headphone amp or maybe keeping the Nait 50 for serious headphone listening with an Arcam for TV/films and more general
