Is it possible to turn the display off?
Yes, it is
That’s good, as it’s very bright. I can’t image you’d need to change settings often, if at all, other than when changing cartridge. It’s a good looking setup.
Thanks Nigel, you can dim the lights in 5 steps to Zero, in the near future I would take an MC Cartridge, so I am totally opened to what will come in the future. But now my piggy bank is empty, traded my Accuphase CD player in for an excellent price
I wonder whether you should get a better arm before upgrading the cartridge? That’s the standard way of doing things. I’m sure it sounds great just as it is.
Yeah, could be so, but this will Happen in 2 years or so. I made a big step from Majik with Internat Phono Card level to what I now have. Actually I have LA Woman from the Doors on, this is just phenomenal and I don‘t have the one from Analogue Productions. Just on point, loads of PRAT, excellent Soundstage and so detailled. I am just content
In this hobby contentment is about as much as one can hope for, enjoy
Thanks for your post @dayjay
The most important thing in Hi-Fi for me is music and listening to it, enjoying it. All forums about it lead to Upgraditis and the search for Perfectionism. But one of the quintessences of life is imperfection. Sitting here and listening to the Ziggy Album and just enjoying it is so valuable and just what it is all about: enjoying music!
Amen to that.

A few very easy and free (almost…) tweaks.
- Room “treatment”
-
Height adjustment of speakers to level.
-
Adding washing machine feet to speakers.
Now my expectation bias was low on this one, but overall an improvement.
Looks so much like a speaker foot. Clever !
Genius! I need to raise my IBLs of a few inches… And the lamps are just fine.
they work well, whether set to “delicate”, “mixed” or “heavy”…!
I suspect that many improvements people here using fancy (expensive) audiophile after market feet are mostly related to the height adjustment. And that a solution like yours would have worked just as well at a fraction of the cost!
I suspect it has very little to do with height adjustment and a great deal to do with isolation. Either way these feet may do a similar job
Your dining chairs look nice.
What are they? Do you have a photo? And are they comfy?
(We’re debating renovating or replacing our current ones)
I have not tried those. Otoh, as other threads show, many of us with bouncy floors have found a pretty dramatic improvement from Isoacoustic Gaias or Townshend products under speakers - in my case both B&W 804D3s and Neat Xplorers.
The Auva 100’s are also very good !
The height adjustment will almost certainly affect the sound. How much the isolation does, relative to that, can of course easily tested by trying something different (non-isolating) of the same height.
If you end up trying, I’d be interested to hear the results.
