I know its a little untidy and the location is far from perfect as I’m banished to the dining room for my hifi fix…
…and please don’t look at the cables as, at the moment I just don’t care, I’m back with Naim for the first time in a little under a year and I couldn’t be happier getting back the sound I enjoy so much, my toes are literally tapping
Agreed, but surely most spikes will allow adjustment and I have finally got my speakers in a position I am happy with, absolutely no way I am moving them even a millimetre left, right, up, down, forward or back!
With the juice of a squeezed lemon, yes, hydration after the bike ride
Then it’s on with Friday evening bottle of red, light the log stove, cook the pasta, and jazz on the jukebox.
hits hard Dan, the 300DR has complete control over the SBLs.
Some say the 300DR makes an SL2 twice as big, the 300DR into an SJ PAXO SBL is huge. Ive never heard SBLs sound so BIG, the bass punch is incredible but tight and focused.
Thanks Dan. The aim to go back to one Fraim was my goal but also maximise the kit within one stack, I think I’ve reached that point. Okay the 350s would work (maybe better) but I would lose the OC look.
Your system is epic Dan, looks the business and if I’m ever down south I would love to call in for a listen
You are very welcome to come and have a listen. The LP12 sounds sublime into the 500 amplification.
Your system is perfect. You wanted one rack and it looks beautiful. Time to relax and enjoy it all.
2 x 350s would then make you look at preamp and ND5XS2. And then you loose the synergy. You made right decision sticking to OC. Getting a 300DR brand new was the smart move.
Accommodating the 300DR on a single Fraim is a challenge especially with the burndy cables, but not one touches the floor or wall or each other. Took and age to get right!!
Stacking six boxes is probably the level max of a Fraim. So placing a Fraim Lite level on the top of a full fat Fraim puts a “lid on it” and by chance placing the smallest component the Chord Dave on top to me it doesn’t look over powering.
Hi @SiBrighton, thank you. We had them made here in Thailand - it’s very easy to do so here. I’ve had a look online and that design seems to be fairly widely available. I believe it is inspired by a German designer chair but I can’t recall the name. Begins with a W I think…
They are quite comfortable, yes, although the back can get a little uncomfortable after a long meal and listening session!
