Just practicing (not purchasing just yet)…..
Yup. I considered myself quite fortunately avant garde when I picked up a 32.5 with a green led in 1991.
Interesting, however I use my ears and toes to evaluate gear. I enjoy the imprecise nature of that method. ![]()

I’ve never put my toes near my Naim gear; don’t want it to get a fungal infection.
I’ve persistent fungal infections in my feet. It has yet to impede the excellent method of assessment described by @Maury_Finkle.
What, exactly, is excellent about the said method? and does it stand up to scientific scrutiny?
Never failed to find me excellent kit.
Couldn’t care less.
Oh go on, do tell.
What’s to tell? A musical, enjoyable, engaging system is what your ears tells you it is.
The salient point was toes; fungally infected or otherwise. Ears are not in contention.
OK, Yesterdays joking post has not received (m)any responses, so today I’ll try something a little different, which hopefully will be a little more relatable, engaging and accessible perhaps?
Again (like yesterday) the loaded image is of two charts, one on the left and one on the right - which appear to be both similar and different at the same time.
Like yesterday, the chart on the left has some coloured Balls on it.
The challenge is to count the number of BALLS.
How many BALLS does the chart on the left contain?.
First one to post the correct answer (might) win a prize?
PS: I realize that the football and cricket fanatics will say those Balls are not even Ball shaped - OK, then just think of them as BLOBS and respond accordingly.
How does it sound?
Too early to say.
PS: Are you going to have a guess at how many BALLS there are in the later post with the attached competition ‘picture’?
After all, you might win a prize if you do?
9? There’s obviously a trick…
There is no trick.
Congratulations - and correct - you win the ‘prize’.
Which, unfortunately, is NOT a brand new Naim CI 102. (Thats what you really wanted, isnt it?)
For a ‘bonus’, do you want to have a stab at the previous days question regarding the differences between left and right charts (other than the fact that the left one has BALLS/BLOBS and the right one does not), and also the suplimentary question regarding what the charts represent?
I’m new here,
who are you?

I sometimes ask myself the same question ![]()
That’s waaaay beyond my technical/scientific abilities. Which hover around zero. On a good day.
