Hi, This is a link to the video from Acoustic Sounds detailing the launch of LAW, I presume that I am allowed to post this link, if not my apologies.
Latest news:
" The Doors 1967-1971 6-LP set will arrive as the latest installment in Rhino’s acclaimed High Fidelity audiophile vinyl series on November 22, featuring all six of the band’s original studio albums cut from the original analog master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearant Audio. The vinyl was pressed at Optimal Media and the box includes a heavyweight gatefold jacket featuring rare photos and liner notes by Doors archivist David Dutkowski. Only 3,000 copies of the limited-edition set will be available exclusively at thedoors.com and rhino.com."
Torn on this one. If it’s better than the ‘lizardskin’ box, I guess it could be a straight one in-one out, but…last thing I expected was another 6 album boxset.
Think I have four such boxsets now, LP and CD.
Wait and see I guess.
Oh no… same here I have the Lizardskin set and love the mono version of the first album.

I’m looking forward to Detroit on vinyl (have the CD set, but an LP set would be great), and the book next year from Genesis, pre-ordered it months ago, as is the way with Genesis publications:
Looking forward to hearing if Kevin Gray can bring magic with the 60th Anniversary set, but…would rather have more Bright Midnight reissues: Danny I think cared more about The Doors than the present management seem to, what with baby clothes, skateboards, gimmick record players et al. DCC reissues would be great too, but that’s a real pipedream…
Genuinely fascinated by this topic, i find them unlistenable garbage, but hey, there are choices
Martin
Yep.
I think similar thoughts about a lot of forum favourites…that’s the joy of choice, but I just skip those posts or threads.
Came across this during an idle scroll through the www. Think it’s from The Doors official site. Clever!
This just delivered a little while ago. The new The Doors: 1967-1971 6-LP box from Rhino Hi Fidelity series, mastered AAA from the original tapes by Kevin Gray. I’m cleaning them all now and look forward to playing some Doors this afternoon.
Waiting (not very) patiently for mine to arrive
I’m gobsmacked by how good the new vinyl remaster of the Doors albums came out. Morrison Hotel has never sounded nearly as good that I remember. Jim Morrison is standing in the room in front of me. I have the rest of the set to play, but first indication is this is something really special.
I’m interested to see how LA Woman compares to the AP 45 rpm and UHQR editions.
Thanks for the reminder - will get this one if i can
yep me too - lot of money for the UHQR when the AP is so good.
Cheers JDP
I’ve been following the Hoffman thread and… have now completely reversed my decision (posted there) to wait awhile. Boxset ordered!
I figured in 6 months time I’d have forgotten about the money, but if I didn’t have em I’d still be thinking about the albums - so why not…
Another Doors set to join the family!
Box set is showing as *sold out" now. Rumours are that Rhino will likely release the albums singly and un-numbered.
Correct. Starting in January.
