Ah, interesting. I have a definite soft spot for Nytech as a 202 was my first amp bought when in my teens (inc the obligatory Rega Planar3). The new range do look very good and are gaining plaudits. My reasons for considering selling the Nait2 are a few…
I’ve had it a long time and just fancy a change.
Ideally I would really like a remote control but it isn’t a deal breaker.
An amp with a little more versatility in terms of speaker matching would be nice.
Using the Unitiqute2 on its own without the Nait2 is viable, and I have experimented, but I end up really missing the Nait2 when using vinyl, as I don’t think the UQ2 preamp is as transparent as the Nait (Rega Fono2 into both).
I’m in no hurry, so will see what integrateds Naim come out with after 300 series are launched. Plus, I’m also looking at Regas and Exposure too. Lots to consider.
I hope it is possible to do so
It is very interesting too to listen the video, especially at 7mn.
I’m agree with what he’s saying about the 250 and his predecessors from the Classic line.
The Supernait 1, 2 and 3 are all at 80 watts. The former 250 DR was rated at 80 watts.
The new 250 is 100 watts. I wonder if this means that the eventual Supernait 4 will also have 100 watts?
The new 250 and preamp is a bit out of my reach, but I might be interested in an eventual SN4 if it is a worthy upgrade to my SN2.
Yes, I genuinely think that the next range of Naim integrateds could be real zingers. A nice New Classic Nait5 or 6 based on the experience creating the celebrated Nait 50th, and an NC Supernait based on the NC250 - interesting times ahead!
Genuine question - in your experience what level is the 222/npx 300 at compared to ‘classic’ source + pre? Comparable to NDX2/555 + 282/HC, close, well short? I guess a fairer comparison might be an NDX2 without the 555. Many thanks.
I’m awaiting the Musiccraft response with interest here, having discussed this with 4 (non Musiccraft) long-standing naim dealers who all are pretty much aligned on their opinion of the comparative classic setup.
What is your expectation @Django84? Do you think an NSC222 will rival NDX2/555PSDR as a streaming source as per your post? (Either part of that combo retailed for more than an NSC222 and the NC equivalent would be NSS333/NPX300).
Hi there. I’m very interested in the response too. What have you heard from dealers, specifically? I would’ve thought that the new combo might nearly match a straight NDX2 + 282/HC - maybe, who knows (??). I’m not into all this speculation but have a bit of a ‘first world’ predicament with my setup and after lots of consideration may look at an NSC222. However, this would have to be purchased unheard.
Hi JimDog. Ha - I’m left with a 555dr ps, 282/HC, and 250dr after selling the nds a few weeks ago. It’s a bit of a wishy-washy old story, but the crux of it basically is the sad demise of Naim in this part of the world and with that, service/back up. Throw in some annoying legacy streamer gremlins, box count and cable fatigue, and there you have it - first world predicament! I thought I’d get rid of everything except the 250 and run something like a Lumin or Linn selekt directly into it (and almost get away with no extra cost). Options are a bit limited here. Just tried a Lumin T3 (still into the 282) thinking it might be quite good given that I’m just streaming Tidal these days, but it didn’t compare to the nds even with the old platform. And it looks like there’s a Lumin deal-breaker (for me). Trying Linn selekt classic hub with single organik dac next week, but if that doesn’t work out just wondering whether a 222 might be worth the risk (even though I told myself I’d not go there). I’m reluctant to lose sound quality but I’m probably pushing the proverbial…
