Had mine two weeks - at the same time bought a new CD5si and changed to interconnect from the UQ2 from a Chord Cobra to a Chord Shawline X overall very pleased, vocals in particular seem improved

There has been an improvement with both streamer/ blu ray element , turntable is good and I discovered things on an Eva Cassidy CD I had not identified before .

My overall comment is that this is an amp deserving of quality inputs

Don’t forget the Rega 6 comes with the NEO power supply and a slightly better plinth.

Personally my dislike is box count so that is what I dislike about the R6 , I would buy an R3 (again) change the feet, improve the arm to 880 standard and install a good cartridge and be happy

The thing is, the Neo PSU makes such a difference. Just comparing with the motor in your hand, without the Neo the you can clearly feel the motor vibrations, whereas it almost completely disappears with the Neo when tuned to the motor. Even with decoupling, some of that vibration is always going to work its way to the groove and stylus, so minimising it with the Neo brings big gains. Considering the modest cost, I reckon it’s an exceptional upgrade and brilliant value. And it’s only a little box…

Planar 3 Anniversary 50 also comes with Neo psu.

doesnt make sense to send units to pro reviewers. by the time a review appears they will be long sold out anyway.

Hi,
I received my nait50 yesterday and it’s installed next to my nait1.
I only have cb and olive generation devices (even though I’ve had blacks) and I have to say that for the moment I’m positively impressed by the nait50, it’s very fast, dynamic, rhythmic and above all coherent and musical, in that respect it’s the worthy heir to the nait 1, 2 and 3.

Got the Nait 50 in the main system now and it does sound very good indeed. Works very well with my 2002-spec LP12 fitted with Adikt. The Linn Tukans (1993) also match well. Shame I don’t have something more revealing but they certainly play music together which is the main thing. I don’t have NACA5 so using K20.

This is hard to explain but 90s vinyl like the first two Oasis albums is clearly benefitting. The N50 seems to retain more midrange detail in a refined way that just makes these recording not only more interesting but as good as digital format (where I have previously preferred them to my original pressings).

Is it as tuneful as Linn or Lejonklou electronics? No, but then I never expected that. They don’t do rhythm and timing like Naim and every product I’ve ever heard has its strengths and weaknesses. Is the N50 as musically coherent (to my ears) as vintage Naim, like the 12/160, 42.5/110 and Nait? No, but I’d say it’s not far off.

What it does offer is a much more up to date sound that makes music on my 12/160 sound slowed down. As for the Hi-Fi attributes, they are miles better than CB-era equipment. Perhaps more importantly though, I’ve been spinning vinyl all week in the office and thoroughly enjoying the N50 as part of that system - it gets to the heart of the music and the added information is a benefit rather than a distraction.

Welcome, Manu — time to post more about your system here, if you like: System Pics 2023 - #1644 by fergch

Welcome Manu and great to see you here with your wonderful CB collection.

Yes, welcome @Manu67 , lovely picture :+1:

Hi Richard, i own a 14 yo Rega P3 fitted with Exact and it’s own psu. I’m reluctant to change It since i play vinyl very little, plus i really love it’s lacquered plinth in light green which Is no longer available. I’m wandering whether It could be a good idea to revamp It with a RB 880 tonearm, new psu and new Exact, this One will be arguably tired despite little use

Regards
Roberto

Table, then arm, then cartridge, in descending value, is the rule of thumb. So the rb880 which is standard on the rp8 is possibly too much for the ‘3. Try the rb330 instead.

It’s also £415 by itself; package deals deck plus arm plus cart are much better value than upgrading separately.

£880 for the whole planar 3 exact is considerably better value. And the 50th Anniversary one is not much more £899.

I would just try changing the PSU - sell the old one and buy a NEO, it’s so far ahead of the earlier version.

I can well understand your affection for the green Rega 3 , I love vibrant colours.

As others have said you can change power supply, arm , cartridge - have you thought about the feet ?

Had the Nait 50 for about three weeks, last night streaming from R3 had an absolute jaw dropping sound , my streaming came from a UQ2 .

If it had come from my former five box system with a Magnum Dynalab I wouldn’t have been surprised .

However this theme of retro is not alone , a Musical Fidelity A1 just becoming available

I understand it no longer forms part of a central heating system

Do you mean OEM upgraded feet or others ? i was not aware of this
Also, whenever funds will allow, i hope to get a LP 12 joining Nait50 for full vintage system flavour.
