Time for a change?

Very very nice, same compliment as Gazza. I don’t find the Fraim shelf as a silly shelf to support av components. I doesn’t take a lot of space, so hardly can really annoy sound quality between speakers.
The only element which degrades the sound is the big tv between speakers. I would personally cover it with something thick when listening to music.

That looks very nice. Watching a movie must be pretty convincing supported by the 808s? :slightly_smiling_face:

I agree if you like your system, why change, but assuming you have a NAC with all those inputs, why not get a streamer… there are plenty to choose from including nd555, and it will open a relatively vast world of very high quality enjoyable musical content. BTW do t fall for the ‘trap’ of replacing g a CDP with a streamer… it’s a bit like saying replacing a turntable with a tape deck… sure they use different media formats, but they bring their own nuanced interpretation to reconstructed audio. The CD555 has quite a different digital reconstruction chain compared to the ND555 or most streamers thinking about it. I would say the same if you had a CDX2 as well.

Fair enough, but I still think it would look much better with one of these. At 41cm high it would hide the wires and at 90cm wide would leave plenty of space between it and the speakers. Clearly you don’t want one now but if that changes it would be a good option and it’s a good colour too.

I like that style. I’ve had a quick google but can’t find a UK stockist. Any pointers?

Marvellous system Nigel and although I wasn’t following this thread daily you appeared fairly equanimous during a protracted period without a main system.

I hope it gives you many years of enjoyment.

ZUO Linear from China I believe but marketed in the USA. I don’t know of any UK stockists.

It’s the Verona AV cabinet narrow from Heals. Normally £1,049, currently on offer at £899.

I stand corrected. Zuo market similar in the USA.

Clearly. And I’m with him on that one

Maybe, but we also use the system for playing movies and watching tv, it would be very hard to do so if we didn’t he the tv where it is

Indeed, movies are awesome when we play them through the hi-fi. The soundstage is huge and the detail is awesome.

Thanks SJB, I am sure it will provide yers of entertainment.

As for the wait, I had no choice, everyone else was in the same position and it was no one’s fault. I know people were working really hard to get my system back but I appreciate many more we’re too.
I will admit it was hard being without my system especially when we couldn’t get out much due to Karens accident but we got through it

Thanks Mark,

We were at the old house for just short of twenty years and it probably took a good ten years to get the hi-fi where it was before we moved. Obviously I was very nervous about moving it. The room itself needs a few more furnishings, it’s very minimal at the moment but the plus side is that it has a perfectly even sound. My old house had a dead half where the wall was nd a live half where the window was and those corners were not ideal. However, we managed to get the best sound we could.

We’ve started on a new journey, hopefully it won’t take ten years to get this system sounding it’s best

Superb!

Are you into musicals & opera?

M

I am not that educated, I am more into rock and heavy metal to the disgust of some forum members

We have regular film nights with friends, which are frequently Musicals - last one being ‘Into the Woods’.

Great use of AV & Naim!

Congratulations @Polarbear .well done. Lots to look forward to. I’m also in the process of redoing my room. The 808s are on my short list but somewhat difficult here in the US.

I love good rock… what disgust? :metal:t3: Aren’t forum members here into Naim …

Naim plays anything that’s music, with some verve.

Haven’t taken to heavy metal (yet) … tried to but that one borders, if I may be so bold, on a touch of insanity especially when pumped loud - tantamount to my early demise from the Home Minister - either way it has nothing to do with being educated, PB… tsk tsk.

All good, Sir!
