Yusef Dayes Experience - Live Mt Fuji FM (2025)

I have listened to this many times on Youtube and as I own the other two YDE live releases was really looking forward to this release however at present it is only being released as a Ltd edition in Pink vinyl with Obi, with printed Giles Peterson interview booklet and a personal thank you for £49 to rich for me so I though just wait for a bog standard black vinyl edition.

Just revisited Bandcamp to check and this £49 edition has sold out anyway.

The Beat - The Beat at The BBC, Rhino RSD (2025)

Made up of recordings from the John Peel and Mike Read shows this is yet another really overpriced record at over £50 I’d like to own a copy but only if a copy at half that price turns up.

Various Artists - Naive Melodies, Bbe Music (2025)

Interesting looking Talking Heads covers LP by the likes of Theo Croker, Pachyman and Kenny Dope Ft Ro’isin Murphy.

I hope this allowed as it’s “about to be on pre-order” I am still trying to research it but early next year one of my all time favourite albums gets another release. Talk Talk Spirit Of Eden, half speed master. I “believe” (no joke intended) its a digital source and to think they had 200 hours of unreleased material, I think Mark Hollis wished this to be kept unreleased, and “in the know” people on here, kindly comment if you can, thanks

I’ve seen the half speed remaster for pre order on Amazon at just over £20.

These half speed remasters are more hit than miss in my opinion and I’d be surprised if it bettered the original but that’s just my opinion.

The Colour of Spring is one of my best sounding records that I use to test new equipment MH was a real perfectionist.

Don Cherry Latif Khan - Music/Sangam, Heavenly Sweetness (2025)

An album I’ve wanted for a long while but have always avoided the reissues on the French label Heavenly Sweetness that have been around 10 years or more I’m wandering if this latest reissue will be any good. I’ll wait and see if any reviews come out.

Sun Ra & His Arkestra - Supersonic Jazz, Cosmic Myth (2025)

Promo

Official expanded 2xLP / 2xCD edition of Sun Ra’s Saturn debut features an additional fourteen tracks of alternate versions and studio takes. The CD also contains four CD only bonus tracks. Liner notes were penned by avid fan Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo, as well as an essay from longtime Ra blogger Rodger Coleman (NUVOID Sun Ra Sundays). Vinyl gatefold jacket includes a 12x12 insert reproduction of the original LP jacket art.Recorded in 1956 and released in 1957, Supersonic Jazz is arguably the first long-playing album by Sun Ra and His Arkestra on his Saturn label. However, it was not recorded as a debut. Rather, the album was assembled from tapes recorded during a number of sessions at two Chicago studios (RCA Victor and Balkan), and several tracks had been released as singles before their inclusion on this album. (Sunny’s first fully realized commercial album was 1957’s Jazz by Sun Ra, produced by Tom Wilson on his short lived/soon to be defunct Transition label.) Prior to these sessions, Sunny was still arranging for the Red Saunders Orchestra and singer Joe Williams, in addition to arranging for and coaching doo-wop ensembles. As Sunny’s ambitions achieved liftoff, the Arkestra coalesced, began building a repertoire (mostly of Ra’s originals), and making forays into studios. Deciding it was time for commercial releases, Sunny and business partner Alton Abraham launched Saturn (sometimes called El Saturn) as a record company in 1956.As a first offering, Supersonic Jazz is a pinnacle Sun Ra release. While reflecting many prevailing bebop, Latin, and R&B conventions of the mid-1950s, it’s evident that Sun Ra’s musical voice and vision were starting to propel him away from the jazz mainstream. Biographer John Szwed finds on these recordings “characteristics which seemed alien to swing, bebop, or the new, more soulful and hard-edged music which was coming to be called hard bop.”

Etta James - At Last, Chess (2026)

I held off on buying KG’s cut on Jackpot Records a while back as both the original RSD and later reissues have had pressing issues according to some reviews, I’ve also been on the lookout for a reasonable Speakers Corner copy without success so this Chess 75 Acoustic Sounds might well be the answer.

Nightmares on Wax - Echo 45 Sound System, Warp Records (2025)

I’ve listened to few EDM Reggae crossover LP’s recently and Echo 45 is far and away the best and actually sounds really credible with guest appearances by Liam Bailey, Mos Def, Greentea Peng and Sadie Walker amongst others. The whole LP is on Tidal if you want a listen.

The long-lost 1979 dub masterpiece from Channel One Studio!
Features the unmistakable ‘rockers’ sound of The Revolutionaries – deep, heavy, and revolutionary.

Dutch Man Dub captures the deep Channel One groove – hypnotic basslines, crashing snares, and cosmic echoes that stretch far beyond Kingston. Each track is a masterclass in dub minimalism, where rhythm becomes meditation and space becomes instrument.

Track Highlights: “Night Dub,” “Dutch Man,” “Africa Is A Must,” “Burning Mike”.

The Revolutionaries - Dutch Man Dub, Burning Sounds (2025)

Legacy: Once obscure, now recognized as a classic of the late-'70s dub era. It captures the raw Channel One sound and showcases dub as meditative and spatial.

Released on 180-gram vinyl. Incl. insert with sleeve notes.
